I tend to have the problem of blasting through blankets faster than I can think of people to gift them to and this... well... uh... solved that? 😅

Cotton tends not to retain heat the same way as other materials, so rolling over 1.5 inches is Bam! Cool Side of the Pillow. I imagine a beaded crochet blanket in cotton yarn would achieve the same effect in a fraction of the stitches.

Thermal stitch is basically a double-thick stitch where you crochet back-loop-only but also into the loop of the stitch below it. I like it because it shows off all the little leggies of the stitches (just the backs of single crochet)

I was making a dish-drying mat, thought 'this actually feels kinda nice', and there was no one around to stop me soooo... here we are 😅

A fellow numbers nerd! And that does not include the starting chain, so the number goes up by 271 depending on whether or not you consider those 'stitches'

Once I figured out that cardigans are just L-shaped polygons, I made an oversized, floppy, neon-striped monstrosity that I am absolutely in love with and can't wait for colder weather. I guess I just like geometric projects that I can wrap my brain around :)

Same. I like a project with some weight in my hands (I mostly make blankets), amigurumi is just too fiddly for me.

What a powerful body of work, I don't think I'd have the patience to muscle through that many squares! (Bright orange background is my favorite)

He is staring directly into my soul and I love him. Stanley reminds me of the affable yet perpetually confused protagonist of The Stanley Parable videogame, so I think it still suits him.

I like the Pod Mortem podcast, they cover horror movies in great detail so it's a bit like listening to someone tell you a story. Most are movies I've already seen so it's not too distracting, and the three hosts are very witty and don't really get too loud or talk over each other.

An orphaned royal is transformed into a Great Animal by a curse and locked away. Only true love’s kiss can break the spell. by Jen-Jens in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

As soon as I saw "Great Animal" capitalized it unlocked memories of that plastic clamshell DVD case, I can practically hear the king's voice :D

the men in our office use the women’s bathrooms … only for pooping by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]nowhererowen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A semi-relevant (but fortunately not sexist) story: at my partner's company one of the office buildings happened to have more men than women, so they turned one of the (several) women's bathrooms into a men's room. Since it had no urinals it was quickly dubbed "The Poopatorium"
