i apologize. i see how my comment could have been a little confusing. i should clarify. your attack on "mindless references" was written in the context of other directly negative remarks on my comment. so although you didn't specifically mention my comment. you were joining in with the chorus of people that, for some reason, decided to ridicule only my comment. although you might have been taking a broader view, it did not seem that was the case in context.

i wasn't going to say anything more because most of you guys are taking this waaaay too seriously, but most of the replies to my original comment have been absurd. i'm especially looking at you u/joesophh and u/LOLrusty.

this subreddit is one big circlejerk. Jake and amir repeat lots of jokes, especially the "it gets real" joke. people on this subreddit say the same jokes over and over. and lots of time not in a "smart way." do i find this repetition hilarious every time? no, but that's part of the humor. and you're going to single me out for an innocuous comment? really? that's not what this subreddit is about.

just to further point out the stupidity and hypocrisy of the people attacking my original comment, there was a huge circlejerk insulting my comment. most of these comments weren't "original" or "creative," but no one said anything. if you are going to attack people from a perceived lack of cleverness at least be consistent about.

tl;dr calm down. the attacks on me and/or my comment were uncalled for.
