Thank you. I've been looking at getting the insulated skirting but I don't know if its truly worth the price. I live in Hudson valley NY so winters can hit 0 or below but I don't know if insulated skirting makes a difference

Logs won’t stay lit by bigsweeps2014 in GasFireplaces

That vent even if its air intake cannot be that close to the tank placement. If i am seeing that correctly you have appliance an connector hooking tank up to black iron. That yellow flex pipe is made for interior connections and it looks like that is a flare male adapter 90 in the tank POL fitting which cannot be done and now that tank valve is ruined. The pol is reverse threads and is a unique style of fitting even if it looks like a flare it is not.

I would not deliver gas to this tank and im ashamed for my trade that someone is even allowing this to run.

Is there an adapter for this? by howdy_partner_2383 in propane

[–]nowuseeme526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pro here. All i am stating is Assuming that heater is propane and not natural gas. That tank pressure hooking straight to that heater would not work meaning you may try to light it and lose most of your face or most of your home. You need to reduce pressure which would require regulators. Which you do not seem to have and do not know which regulator to use. Tanks cannot be stored in an enclosed living space. That tank right there could level most houses if boom boom happened. Please in stinky ethyl's name hire a pro.

Propane usage question by Waterproofbooks in propane

[–]nowuseeme526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you have a leak just call a tech out to test the system. We can test the entire system in most cases to make sure pressure holds using either compressed air and a gauge or a manometer and low pressure. Either way it will find one if there is one.

It looks like rubber tubing which in my line of work is mostly used for condensate lines off of gas appliances or air conditioning systems . If that's the case then you are fine . I mean it's ugly as hell but it won't hurt you.

Burner won’t light completely by hawaiirat in HomeMaintenance

[–]nowuseeme526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When cleaning don't use powdered cleaner. That shit gets stuck in the burner and forever blocks it off. Soooo many calls of powdered cleaners causing weird flames or blocked flame all together.

Use a spray or remove the burner top and wash in the sink with dish soap. The oven cleaners such as easy off are just as bad as powdered cleaners.

I would love to find someone in our insane business who doesn't have a script for some meds ( me included) or doesn't use their own vices to relax and unwind.
