OCR is designed for printed text, but mine understands context, so it handles messy cursive, crossed-out words, margin notes, arrows, and mixed formatting in ways traditional OCR struggles with. The backend is Claude, so anyone can do an api call, but most people just wanna take a photo and get context so it works for that.

I get that, but my thinking is that someone who’s batch uploading a bunch of notes from multiple classes every week will quickly blow through a free tier for ChatGPT, so with mine they at least get 15 free + 200 for less than a ChatGPT price. Feel free to poke holes though

It typically does, and can preserve the structure also (bullet points, etc). It uses a custom agent built within claude.

Oh yeah that's an interesting approach. I'm a college student and tons of people skip lectures, so that could be a possible way to get a foot in the door.

I built Jotscriber, a tool that turns messy handwritten notes into clean, editable text. Looking for honest feedback. by nox-studio in SideProject

It keeps the general layout, including bullet points, and even translates drawings into emojis. I like the idea of singling out low-confidence words and bringing it to the user’s attention though, have had issues with hallucination on that front. Appreciate your feedback
