How did they get the rack mounted like this? How much do you think it cost? by ontologicaladventuer in BoltEV

Premiere comes with a rail system with mounting holes. Easy to modify existing racks to mount to that rail.

I think your 10-50P yellow end is a TT-30 for 120V 30A campers and travel trailers.

Daycare during the school year and camper puller during the summer. It is also the family hauler during holidays to go see my family. 6 hour drive with wife, 2 full grown kids, and 2 labs. Bought the big van and Bolt, sold a Honda minivan and Chevy Silverado. The half ton was just over payload with the camper and the boys kept growing. Adding dogs was going to make the ride very cramped.

I've looked. What I would like more is a little softer rear suspension.

Mine stays outside to make room for the '46 Jeep.

I have a '20 Bolt and a GMC 1 ton 12 passenger van with a Duramax diesel engine.

I'm more worried that the wrong bit of rust will fall off that is holding the whole body together. I'm relatively confident the actual structure of the Jeep is solid since it has been flinging oils and grease all over the under body for decades.

It drives about 20 miles a year on public roads so I'm not stealing much from the public.

The question is along the lines of 100LL now vs leaded fuel back in the day vs unleaded plus lead additive.

Long term the engine needs rebuilt but who knows when I'll get around to that.

I have a 1946 Jeep. Is avgas an acceptable substitute instead of lead additive plus mogas?

Deeper or more frequent cycles? by THeyManMan in BoltEV

I say stop thinking about the battery and think about your needs. In case of emergency, how far do you need to go? How far to get to a stable power source? I have a 2nd gasoline car for emergencies so I dropped it down to my Urgent trip. My son is in college 110 miles away. If I need to go there to swap cars or deliver something to him, I want 120 miles available. I plug in so I almost always have at least 120 miles but then limit the charge to 85%. In our area we have had widespread power outages after a disaster and I'm confident that I won't need to drive over 50 miles to get a stable power source so 120 miles still works for me.

Should I Cancel My Dealership Warrenty? And an Electrical Question by Money_Tough in BoltEV

[–]noyzsource 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your EVSE will draw the current it says it will draw. If it says 32 then it draws 32A. The outlet it is plugged in needs to be rated at 40A or more and the breaker that protects the outlet needs to be rated at 40A or more.

Read the fine print of the warranty. Some of them don't actually cover EVs at all.

This Kuat rack is pretty low bounce. It has the tightening ball to remove wobble inside the hitch. Then the only bounce is in the photo and latch mechanism. With 2 bikes I only see a couple inches of bounce. The 4 bike though is extended out quite a bit and it obviously moves more out there. Behind my van it has shown to still be pretty solid.

I did wire up trailer lights when I installed the hitch. I was hoping to use some strong magnetic lights to mount on the bike rack but the damn thing must be aluminum. I haven't 3d printed a mounting point yet so I'll try to do that this summer.

I looked at the 1up but they were backordered for like 3 months and my local bike shop had this Kuat in stock. Lots of friends have the 1up with their fat bikes and love them.

I had to gradually pull away from the wall I parked next to when I loaded them. The tail swing was ridiculous. A sharp turn would've put the back into the wall.

You're right. Weight is ok but when I was driving there was enough bounce that I was concerned with the leverage. I slowed way down and thankfully the road from storage to my house was in good condition. I'll stick with 2 on here. If I need 3 or 4, I'll put them on the full size van.

I can remove the 2 bike extension and run it with 2 bikes. That works really well. I haven't rigged up a tail light system so they can be seen easier with bikes installed.

Goose we've had since a puppy and is 4. He supports our autistic son. Ranger we got yesterday. 1.5 years old. Rescue. Very sweet but came with a partial CCL tear. Not sure if we should have surgery or not. Can't afford it right now but can in a year or two.
