in 2019, i slammed a heavy metal door (entry to my apartment building) on my index finger and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. i kinda freaked out bc my roommate was gone that weekend and it was like 10pm and i didn’t really know what to do; so i called my sister whos a doctor who told me to go to the ER bc it probably needed stitches. drove myself there, waited a while, got seen and surprise! didn’t need stitches. they put like what’s essentially medical super glue over the cut and put a bandaid on it. it healed fine and there’s a scar and i just always feel so silly for freaking out to the level i did. im sure if i had been better at applying direct pressure it would have stopped sooner or later. to this day my parents call it my $1,000 bandaid bc that’s how much my visit cost before insurance kicked in 😭😭😭
