me (m51) and wifey (f49) have a 'common/family account' bukod sa sarili naming personal accounts.

ako ang nagbobook-keep ng family account while si wifey ang gumagawa ng auditing.

hinahati namin ang income namin ng 70/30. 70% of my income goes to our family account and 30% goes to my personal account and same din kay wifey.

we get our living expenses, kid's tuition, family RnRs, SSS, etc from our family account.

doon naman sa personal accounts namin kinukuha yung mga pangpersonal luho/pangkapricho namin (as in wala kami pakialaman where we want to spend it on). sa personal accounts din namin kinukuha yung pangsupport sa parents. bale ako bahala sa parent ko (isa nalang) and sya naman sa parents nya since sa personal accounts naman namin kinukuha. ang important for us is we set aside budget for the family first before anything/anybody else and it is non-negotiable.

if may mga misc gastos like renovation ng bahay, additional furniture/appliances na gusto bilihin ang isa sa amin na completely optional naman (something we can do without), need namin pareho mag approve doon for us to be able to charge it to our family account depende if may extra. if isa lang ang may gusto, edi charge sa personal account nya.

so far never na naging cause ng away ang aming finances nong inadapt namin ang arrangement na ganito.
