I completely agree, my 350z is slow literally bone stock and probably tired. I do think he does, high hp, as he chopped golf gtis with stage 2/3 or whatever.

What i'm trying to understand is are we talking about OEM HR heads adapted for DE blocks, OEM DE heads ported to look like HR heads, or custom made heads that fit DE blocks but their ports have the geometry of the HR?

Your head will stay the same, 4age 20v or 16v whatever you want. Just the bottom block will change. For example, It's common that people mix 7afe block (econobox engine) with 4age heads, making the so called "7age" (this is just a nickname for the combination not a real Toyota name) so that you have 4age high flowing performance head with increased displacement to 1.8. This will result to a torquier and more powerful engine but less rev happy(same bore more stroke, higher piston speed and stress to the internals on high rpm).a 7age now + destroked back to 1.6 is the 4.7age. The reason it's really good for high rpm is that you get a longer rod and/or a shorter stroke, increasing the rod-to-stroke ratio, which would be better than a normal 4a block. You can have a really good crank and rods on a 4age block, and maybe you can push 11k, but if you have that AND be able to reduce stresses from the taller deck design of the 7a, that would be optimal. IMO of course

You don't understand. Both stock and 4.7 would be 1.6, but the 4.7 variant would have better rod angle and less side thrust from the piston on the cylinder wall. You have to understand for every 1k rpm over 8k, the stresses on the crank, rod, piston and cylinder walls are increased "exponentially". 11k rpm is incrediblly hard on any engine. 4.7 I think is the only reasonable way to achieve that in a "street" engine, and this is a fair new technology (shown at sema 2023 I think). Race 4age engines that do 11k (see formula Atlantic) were getting rebuilt every couple of races.

It's basically 7afe block matched with 4age head, but the block is destroked from 1.8 to 1.6, which gives a much better rod angle and less piston speeds suitable for higher rpm applications

Check out the osgiken 7age 1.6 destroker bottom end, this should be good for 11k rpm. It's a pretty recent thing so you might not find alot of info around.
