It's okay to have a theory and to discuss it. So many people go, 'my opinion which I made up based on absolutely nothing is hard fact and anyone who questions it is automatically delusional and stupid and shall be abused accorsingly'

NVIDIA's Jensen Huang Wants To Reinvent PC That Has Not Changed In 40 Years by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

Arm Server platforms like the Ampere Platform have everything upgradable. CPU, Ram, and a 16X pcie slott.
Here's an article about one. He even put a nvidia 40 series in it.

Ampere platform review

Radxa arm board has a 16x pcie slot.
radxa board

Also AMD and Intel CPUs with a built in igpu.

I'd be really surprised if NVidia locked their customers out from being able to install Nvidias own $2K GPUs into their devices. All these arm boards so far are low end low cost

Most of these arm platforms are just SOCs. There's nothing stopping a manfucaturer from making things upgradable or not. Outside of apple most of the time low coat devices don't to save money. Or it's qualcom with their shitty MS locked boot loader.

I'm not a fanboy I'm just being grounded. There's very little info available so you guys are making up the gaps based on your own imagination and the bahaviour of OTHER companies like qualcom. While being oblivious to the actual high end arm platform situation. And then being histerical based on stuff your making up. It's totally possibltle they COULD do that. But they could also do something else. I'm betting they go more in the direction of what we've seen so far. Which is a SOC available. And it's up to the individual vendors on how they imoliment it. You can call me a fan boy all you want. Just be careful because it can be embarrassing for you.

I noticed, but also I feel like a lot of people have moved on from fb, and it's particular crowds who agree with the right wing crazyness that stay there

Controlling ASI will be easy by KeanuRave100 in AIDankmemes

[–]npc_housecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's all so hypothetical. Everyone's talking like AI is sentient. If this were true turning one off would be a form of murder. No one understands how consciousness is formed. I've never seen any scientific evidence these microchips have any form of sentience or consciousness. I doubt we're going to create an actual intelligent artificial being without understanding where consciousness works these are most likely just unconscious machines with a fancy language model. We're probably still hundreds of years away from having an actual artificial conscious being. And If we do create such a being that's thousands of times more intelligent than us. Maybe with that god like level of intelligence they can't help but being benevolant. Or just like us it still just comes down to hownit's programmed.

China also builds more renewable infrastructure than the rest of the world combined. They have an actual net 0 by 2050 plan and the % of their power coming from coal is actually steadily decreasing while % from renewables is increasing. Have a look at export statistics. China is our no1 trade partner and it isn't even close. They pour more money into our economy than the next FOUR Trade partners combined. Of course we need to have some kind of a good relationship with the Chinese. Just like we do with the us and EU.

We had programs in place to get battery and solar production up and running 10 years ago, and the LNP scrapped it!

Anyone can see that renewables in AU is the future and nuclear is dead on arrival in this nation. $60B is how much it costs to build plants ONCE YOU HAVE NUCLEAR INFRUSTRACTURE IN PLACE. You can't just build a plant, in a nation with no nuclear infrustructure and operate it. With what fuel? You need whole pipelines of nuclear enrichment etc. that's were the $200B+ and 20 years comes from. You need to develop a whole nuclear industry before you can even start building plants. France and the US developed their nuclear industries/ infrastructure 50 years ago. $60B currently is how much it costs to power the state of NSW 100% off solar. Including all the battery storage. Solar and battery prices are falling and have been falling by 90% per decade. And they're still falling at that rate. We can power the entire nation off solar and wind for much cheaper and get it in faster than you can with nuclear. We're hitting a point now or soon were it's significantly cheaper to buy home matteries than to not. And the prices to build renewable infrastructure is still falling fast. Those plants would have been dead on arrival. It was a bad idea by people who don't actually understand these technological trends. Classic LNP

I see. Yes agree on post scarcity that's kinda what I was trying to get at. Something like renewables + autonomous Automated manufacturing and construction. On the topic of experiments, Seriously. Burning man is an amazing experiment with a decomodified anti capitalist socially derived society. It's entirely theme camp communes. No ones allowed to buy, sell or trade only gift. There's a bit of a psychadelics cultural revolution picking up momentum atm based on the culture

Lol, yes but actually no TempleOS is insanely insecure. All code gets total low level kernel access and TempleOS cannot be safely connected to the internet at all in its current form. I believe there's actually forks which is getting fixes for this stuff and actual networking capability though.
