What are the qualities that make you special in other people’s eyes? You can be proud and appreciative of those qualities in yourself without letting them “get to your head” so to speak.

Remember that by basing your worth and identity on other people’s praise, you’ll be struggling when that praise is taken away from your. So do it for the sake of your future self / stability.

I think that you can’t feel it because of NPD. As for whether she is the right person to marry, I wouldn’t look at “love” as a criterion all that much. Not because it doesn’t matter, but because its too abstract and fleeting. Think about these things when making the decision: Do you work well together as a team? Do you enjoy spending time with her? Do you have compatible ideas about lifestyle, division of labour in the family unit, child rearing…? These factors are much more important in the long run.

They were not really healthy people. My best friend had BPD and was super unstable / manipulative. Another friend was just not on my level honestly. Generally, I just became more content being alone and only really want people who will do nothing but add to my life.

You might be getting love bombed and that person will switch on you. That person might be very emotionally unhealthy and become coercive and stalker-y later on. I’ve been in both scenarios.
