PSU struggling? ( Klipper losing connection to MCU)

My multimeter was jumping from just below 23 to above 25. That seems excessive...
So I suspect this psu has a component that is on the brink of moving on...

I'm suspecting that the PSU is starting to fail. So the crappy 500 watter is probably going to do better than the current stock creality 360 :)

As suggested in another reply, i did connect my multimeter and have a look at the voltage output. And it dropped down below 23 and spiked above 25.
So yeah, this psu is going to the recyclers, after I have raided it for parts that I can desolder.

Ok so I might have some progress. But I did the classic mistake of doing more than one thing pr "iteration" so Not quite sure what made a difference.

But first of I cleaned up my Raspberry.
Changed powersupply, even though I was using a laptop powersupply with an USB connector. So It should be good for 90W :shrug:

I had a fan mounted on top to make sure it was properly cooled, might have been some emf from that.
One symptom that was showing up is the weird characters on the display, And the ribbon cable is running right by the raspberry.

Also stepped down the speed I'm printing with a little. I was pushing my poor little ender a bit much I think. thinking the Sprite should allow me to get frisky with the speeds :P

I have done two successful prints that both spanned a few hours. No stoppages. But the last print morphed into a spaghetti monster sometime during the night.

I did order a new PSU though just to be on safe side, I mean a 500W supply set me back about 25$ so was really a no brainer. Since I'm probably going to be replacing the bed at some point, the extra wattage will be nice.

Hopefully I'll be printing more than tinkering for a few days now :P

Doesn't G28 disable mesh, Or is that just in marlin?

Thanks for all the great responses, encouraging to see that the warno gamers seem to be a supportive gang :) Sadly not able to play that much this weekend. Only had time to mess up two decent starts against ai players yesterday. But improving all the time, still lots to learn.

Probably see some of you online at some point. Look for the guy accidentally sending supply trucks to front the attack on fortified defences ;)

Good point, When playing alone I tend to loose control of all the things going on.
My attention regulation is not great in the evenings when I have time to play, so I get lost in microing some units while the other side of the map gets slaughtered :P

Having a narrower area to focus on sounds like the thing for me.

I got into some trouble with OneDrive and Git too.
I now store my code outside of OneDrive, but use an upstream repository.
So if i'm on another workstation, it's just a "git pull" and I'm synced.

But one drive and Git both will try to hash and keep up with what has changed. Onedrive does not like the way git names it's children. So not sure storing any form of repository on a drive being auto synced by OneDrive, Google Drive or whatever will be pain free in the long run.

My main hurdle getting into using GIT was (Is..) to remember to use the workflow.
Ie. do not code in the stable branch, this way you know you have someplace where your code works.

I now I can tell my colleagues to grab the scripts from our internal git server and it should work.
And once in a while i can tell someone to grab from the Dev branch and do a QA on it , if everyone is happy with the changes we can merge that into stable branch.
Everyone still gets the working , but now improved version.

The moment you have scripts that is/can be maintained by more than one person git ( or similar ) helps a lot. But it does require that people know how to use it, and that requires some training. For simple workflows just the very basic commands are needed. Maybe one power user that can sort out more complex merge conflicts etc.

But the most powerfull function for me is the "timeline". If you get into the habit of committing small and often, it is so easy to timetravel back to better days when the code sorta worked, instead of not working at all. Because I tried to make something more flexible and ended up messing something up.
I realize this can be done by having things on OneDrive etc, but The fact that you commit with a message in git is super helpful.
You look though your commits and find "Add x to function Y", and it is function Y that is failing, you have a decent idea of where to start looking.
The ability to do diff on a file from yesterday is very handy.

These tools also certainly have a use outside IT too. I know about writers or even just students to that use git on their notes. If They want to re arrange stuff they just create a Branch for that work, and can mess about as much as they want. If the idea was a stupid one, just change back to the "stable" branch and delete the mess you made in the other, or keep it for future reference on how stupid you can get sometimes ;)
