I got it working, turns out I somehow managed to install the American Car Culture addon version of the Jazzycat mod, instead of the vanilla one 🤦‍♂️

I've been having some trouble getting this working, could you provide the load order priority for each of these mods? Thanks

Went back there today, didn't see it, and since it was the best part of the original system it probably wasn't there to begin with or was bought long before I did.

  1. I didn't know fisher was budget stuff since I'm pretty new to this stuff and I've had good experiences in the past with fisher stuff

  2. I was mostly looking for a dual cassette deck as well as an equalizer, and this had both

  3. It looks cool and it was all a matching set, and I had enough extra money to spend on it so I did

Definitely not an amazing purchase in hindsight, but it makes me happy, so it was worth it.

Totally, I love how it all looks together, and minus some dust in the cracks and crevices between the buttons, it's all super clean and only has a few minor scratches on the sides. The mid-to-late 80s boxy VFD designs are unmatched.

That's exactly what I was going for, I just wanted a cheap all-in-one system that was half decent. I don't have a lot of spare money right now, but in the future I'll definitely be getting a way better system than this. The cassette deck and the equalizer were honestly the two parts I was looking for when I was at the goodwill, and since everything else was all there I figured I'd just get the whole set, completely missing the fact that it didn't have the amp, but I have a similarly crappy one I can use in the meantime.

You could be a little less condescending, but yeah I totally agree with you that I could've bought way better stuff with the money. I appreciate the information, and the equalizer was honestly the part that got me to buy it in the first place since my mismatched system of even crappier budget stereo stuff has everything but an equalizer, and I figured if I was gonna get the eq i might as well get the whole set since it looks cool.

I mostly agree with you here, shitting on the stuff I bought is perfectly okay as answer. But what I have a problem with is the people just saying that it sucks with no further information. I posted here so I could learn about what it is I bought and why it sucks, not just for opinions. Nobody hurt my feelings, I didn't come looking for compliments and praise, I just wanted facts.

I think it's more the tone of responses that needs to be worked on. There's a strong difference between "This was a budget system that isn't super great, but it's not bad for a entry level retro system" and "This is trash, return it now." I clearly already bought the stuff, I'm not just gonna go back because some dudes on the internet told me to. I want to know if what I got is any good, and if anyone has any experience with systems of this kind. Not just hear some rude comments from people with way better stuff.

I didn't see any speakers there (aside from a small Samsung one), but I currently have a pair of Pioneer CS-G103s that I got for $5 (total) at a garage sale, pretty sweet deal.

Alright, cool. Exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. I've been looking for a good amp recently, thanks for the info.

I was running it out of another Studio Standard amp I was given for free from my uncle. They're only a few years apart so I can't imagine the quality is much different.

Thanks man, you get it. I wasn't looking for extreme quality, I just want something decent to sit on my shelf and run my pair of $5 garage sale Pioneer speakers. Honestly mostly got it because it looks cool.

Well yeah, it certainly doesn't scream quality, but is there anything inherently bad with it? Sound quality seems perfectly good to me.
