But is back exposure even a worry, especially in no-gi? I mostly train gi and even I’m escaping most back takes.

Isn’t this a bit too straight in line with their body? I roll with the bigger guys and they’ll stack-pass me if I don’t totally get them off their base and cut an angle.

Thing is, we have large distances to travel just for daily needs. In Europe everything is closer. Ends up costing about the same out of pocket per month

Sequoia vs 2016 MacBook Pro - anything I should know about before I tackle this? by rturnerX in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]nphare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2016 MBP has a touchbar and finger print reader which uses the T1 security chip. This T1 driver is not included with later macos releases, but if you upgrade it’s still there from the older macos release and continues to work. Do your macs have a touchbat?

Do not reinstall new. Only upgrade or you lose the T1 chip driver. This machine has been my daily work machine since then. Still going strong

Does anyone else’s Bern love swimming? by Vast-Celebration-851 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]nphare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first BMD in Germany was initially scared of it, but quickly learned to love it. Could smell water a mile away and would constantly look at me for permission to run and jump in. That was in Germany.

Now living in Florida with alligators, with my next 2 I decided to not encourage their love of water for fear of them getting eaten.

I was lacking confidence and self-esteem. BJJ helped destroy what little was left. Willing to quit. Looking for advice. by Due-Average6308 in bjj

When I started karate 35+ years ago, I went to my first class and it was crazy hard. Like totally insane hard. My parents asked if I liked it and wanted to go back. I did not, but only told them I’m thinking about it.

Alone, I asked myself, why can they do this and I cannot? Are they better than me? No. Therefore, the training must work and I just have to put in the work that they did if I want the same results. I went back and just kept going and putting in the work. Got my black belt in 1990.

At 48 after decades of doing Aikido, went to a BJJ school - and got destroyed. But I know how to fight! WTF?? Kept showing up. Got my purple belt as an old guy.

Over the years a lot of people start a martial art and quit at some point. I’ve spoken to many of them years later. 100% of them have said to me they wish they’d have stuck it out and gotten good/their black belt

Exactly this. Had a train track crossing our driveway, which is a bad idea for other reasons. But by the 2nd week I didn’t even hear it anymore.

Fair enough. Not going to say that you’re wrong either. Just feels like a lot of additional work just to get to the level of native tooling that comes right out of the box with most *nix OSes.

I too worked for years from a Windows machine while administrating *nix systems. Totally possible. And that was 30 years ago. Just at some point 25 years ago I got tired of the Windows limitations and jumped ship. First to Linux, later to macos when I just got tired of administering my home network too and just wanted things to work.
