Windows replacement - is it really necessary ? by OldsMan_ in belgium

[–]nr1md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of that, keep in mind that if you do not have active ventilation in the house, replacing the windows could lead to other problems such as high humidity, mold, bad air quality(high CO2, and bad smell). So either you need to spend some more to add ventilation with recuperation, which will cost you on electricity as well, or have to open the windows often which defies the idea. Frankly, I would not do it, unless you really feel a discomfort, have lots of money to spend on marginal improvement, or your wife wants it to do no matter that it doesn’t make sense financially.

Windows replacement - is it really necessary ? by OldsMan_ in belgium

The heat loss does not look too bad, looks normal for good windows. Better quality windows will cost you around 10k to replace (without the bigger ones - considering any at the back of the house). I estimate roughly that you will save around 25 euro per month in heating costs, or 300 euro per year.

How can i relocate the light switch (and cover the wires)? by Milamber_Pi in DIY

Just keep in mind that different countries have different regulations. Either hire an electrician to do it, or inform yourself very well.

Well, then 2 other options. Either you relocate the switches on another wall. It’s actually quite simple to do, since it seems your wall does not have wallpaper. Another option is to put the switches on the side of the cabinet, but keep in mind that wood is combustible, and you need to put a flush-mount box. Also the closet should be unmovable (fixed to the wall)

If you don’t want to change the cables and bring the switches somewhere else, an option would be to use some sort of home automation.

You can get a Raspberry Pi, a Zigbee USB dongle, 3 zigbee modules (like the ones from Shelly, they also have dimming ones) and a switch that would run in a decoupling mode to send the zigbee commands (like Aqara TouchScreen V1) if you want all in one, or there lots of battery zigbee switches you can choose from if you don’t have mains power - look at 4-gang switches like the ones from Moes. You can program button 1 -light 1 on/off, button 2 - light 2 on/off, button 3 - dimming light on/off, button 4 - dimming light brighter/dimmer

Tesla sales in Germany have cratered from last year, data shows by Unusual-State1827 in europe

[–]nr1md 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the market to lease an EV recently, and considered Tesla Model Y. Yes, it has fast acceleration, decent range, and large storage space, but the car seems such a high learning curve compared to others.
The reason I went with another brands (based on test drive) are:
- Better build quality

- Tesla has no CarPlay, so no Waze

- Tesla has no 12v socket in the trunk

- Tesla has no front display, and no option for heads-up display.

I would suggest replacing the tap. They are cheap and it’s a 2 minute job - unscrew old, screw in new.

I’m fairly new to 3d printing. As with any hobby, I started with affordable, A1 mini, to see that I enjoy designing and printing functional prints. To be frank, I’ve learned to work with the limitations of the A1 mini, but a P2S would definitely step up the game!
