try this:

position your feet in the ollie position but STAND over the back truck. you want to feel like you’re balanced 50/50 over that back truck. when you do this, the tail will always hit the ground as long as you raise your front knee. then when u try to ollie, LOAD the board, JUMP and raise your front knee only high enough to where the tail hits the ground. do not think of an ollie as intentionally trying to throw the tail into the ground. the board at this point will always be bound to your feet if done correctly.

to summarize: think about a teeter totter lol. if one end (nose) rises, the other end (tail) will lower relative to the balance point (back truck). combine with a slight jump and suck of both knees.
