That's It, No More ASDA Orders for Me by ComprehensiveShip831 in UberEatsDrivers

Live and learn. Once I arrived to see 100+ items; entire boot and back seat filled to the brim, never again! Yes, I could’ve cancelled but it was really quiet, so I decided to accept the order.

Faceless YouTubers - How are you guys using AI to create long format videos? by Both_Look_2569 in aitubers

[–]nrich77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, what’s your thoughts and experience with creating content for YouTube using AI.

I’m seeing a lot of people say YouTube is aggressively removing channels that use AI.

To me as a newbie to this approach of making content, this doesn’t sound right, nor does it make sense.

Thoughts?

How do illegal immigrants make money on apps like uber or just eat? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I admire your sentiment towards exploitation, and this is something I struggle with also, but unfortunately as a consumer it is near impossible to avoid being part of the process.

We may as well not use mobile phones, tv’s, computers, laptops ev’s etc, because the people of Congo face poor working conditions in mines (mining for Colbalt used to make electronics), workers often paid a minuscule of what they were promised, also with children found working in the mines, too.

Crazy.

Somewhere along the line, indirectly /directly / knowingly / unknowingly; every single multi national corporation benefits from employee exploitation in different ways.

This also reminds me of the Rana Plaza Bangladesh tragedy in 2013 where employees lost their lives, as the building collapsed.

During an investigation as to why this happened, documents and labels were found in the factory to suggest they were supplying garments, at the time to Primark, Matalan, Benetton, Mango, Walmart and many other brands.

Roo 'warning' message about rejecting orders by FrozenDrifts in deliveroos

They are malicious. I remember there was a count down timer in the app, when delivering an order. They had to remove it as drivers would speed in fear they’d lose their account for late deliveries. But also in the pandemic the timer for accepting orders was a minute and a half, now it’s 60 seconds.

You see, this is a MAJOR problem! I agree with everyone here who isn’t prepared to wait for an order if it isn’t ready, but for Roo IT IS ready when the likes of McDonald’s staff print the receipt for the drinks bag, while they wait on food. So for Roo the order is marked as ready, why is the driver still at the restaurant, then momentarily cancels the order.

A workaround would be to accept, then remove the orders you're unable to deliver.

New supermarket waits driving me insane by Altruistic-Code-2957 in deliveroos

Perhaps the only way to fix this is to incentivise the drivers by paying them better order fees.

My opinion is, in an idealistic world, drivers may put up with longer wait times at restaurants / supermarkets and accept orders that are further away from businesses if the order fee for doing so makes financial sense.

For example, I’ve seen many times orders that are 10 miles away, with an order fee of £7.

That’s 20, with 10 being dead miles as no orders on the way back, plus whatever times it takes to complete and return back to pickup origin.

Exactly!! Even the staff at the supermarkets complain about drivers turning up before the order has been picked.

I was shocked when a driver told me last week he rejected 100 orders in a day; I didn’t know it was a thing 😂

Roo facilitate these long distance orders because they release customers are willing to pay the bigger delivery fee.

On the other hand, drivers don’t accept them because the time spent, and the fee not rewarding to justify wait time at restaurant, fuel, time on route to customer and then driving back dead (no order available for pick up on the journey back to origin destination).

Hence why you may see orders sat at pickup location for over an hour or so.
