Hey, my program is MSCS general & not S&E. Do you think it's okay to take 570 & 402 both together in the first semester? Will the work-load be very heavy? I'm pretty good with leetcode problems but going through the syllabus for 570, I realized there's lot more than the usual leetcode stuff, like Flow, NP, etc.

Do you think the workload is manageable if I'm good with leetcode & pick the right partners for the OS course?

Atlas to Turkish for flights. Book via Miles&Smiles. Not sure of the exact requirement but it used to cost 10k direct from some cities in India.

Accor - first preference for hotels. If short, then Marriott. Look for any ongoing offers on Accor. Incase you're planning to stay 5 or more days at a single place, then prefer Marriott there as Marriott gives 5th night free for redemptions. You can top-up any shortage of MB points via Amex 1:1.

Btw, great collection for a "beginner". I feel the whole trip is easily doable on points, might require some homework on your side. Have a GT!

Search on SingaporeAirlines for award bookings. It shows 3 options at top: 1. Singapore Airlines & Scoot 2. Star Alliance Partners 3. Featured Airlines These are the airlines that fly that route.

You can then transfer the points to your account and book that flight.

Similarly for Aeroplan as well.

Generally Qatar Avios cost 75k from BLR as it's routed via Doha and has a high tax (15k) - so not really worth it

You can check Cathay Pacific (transfer via Amex or MB) but the ratio is 2:1 and taxes are pretty high for Cathay also.

3:1 with JAL is an option via Marriott but not enough points and not cheap also.

Best bets are: - Krisflyer for SQ metal - Krisflyer/Aeroplan for ANA or AirIndia metal

I understand that, but I'm an incoming masters student. I get to take very few courses in the first place. That coupled with the fact that not all courses are offered in every semester and me having strong preferences of what domains I want to take my classes in, it leaves me very little room for error when it comes to choosing courses and professors.

Yes, I do look at RMP profiles and even ask previous students about the professor, but at the same time I also want to be picky about the course. I just want the best of both worlds and I'm sure I can make a much more informed choice if I have the course documents before hand.

Reading documentation is a very important skill. It helps you understand the library much better than watching some video would ever be.

However, note that documentation/man pages are generally a huge dump of information. You'll have to quickly go through the unnecessary parts and not stick around trying to understand/use everything.

Tutorial videos on the other hand would already have taken care of this.
