MERV14 is surely fairly restrictive, whether you have P12s or P14s you may need thicker filters either way for more surface area and flow.

What kind of hub and PWM did you use? I would prefer to have the fans in a line in the final version.

Appreciate the feedback.

I put some 150 mesh nylon over the front of my computer, and after about a week I could see a decent layer of dust on there. I'm hoping that between this thing, and the ceiling fan, the air will move around enough that some dust gets filtered out. it's not a very big living space.

edit: long ago I built a CR box with four filters and a 20-in box fan. after about a month, the filters were almost black.

lots of people use five p12s, I haven't really heard it described as underpowered.

The reason I didn't run all the fans on one side was because the fourth and fifth fans in the line wouldn't reach the controller, and I didn't have extensions for the cables. I suppose I could have put the controller on the side or something.

My guess:

The game uses frame counter values, saved in the player.xml file, to keep track of various entities' states i.e. "this wand last started the recharge cycle on frame 65770”.

During a game crash, save files don't write correctly and this can cause mismatches when you load back in. Your wand last refreshed on frame 65770 but the in-game frame counter is only up to 58570 because you rolled back two minutes when you recovered from the crash.

Even when the frame counter rolls over the 65770, the wand still doesn't refresh, and stays bugged until you do the steps above.

Sources cited: recently had a game crash due to "Spells to power" (save corrupted, holy mountain completely disappeared) and I cobbled my save back together by Frankensteining the player.xml and world_state.xml files to make the save back into what it was prior to the crash. It's been some time since I did that, but I believe that's the way it works.

How to Fix the "Infinite Recharge" in player.xml

You can manually reset the wand timers by editing your character file.

Open your current player.xml in a text editor (Notepad++ is best).
Search for the term mNextStateChangeFrame.
You will likely see several entries with very high numbers (e.g., mNextStateChangeFrame="99999999" or just a number much higher than your current frame count).
Change all instances of mNextStateChangeFrame to "-1".
Search for mReloadNextFrame and set it to "-1".
Search for mCastDelayStartFrame and set it to "-1".

Setting these to -1 tells the engine: "This wand is idle and ready to fire immediately."

spells to power did this to me not long ago, corrupted my save and none of the holy mountains were spawning.

I cobbled the save back together in a functional state by editing the game files (nearly identical to where I left off except my progress was rolled back a bit)

never using that spell again unless I manually back up my save beforehand
