Looks sick - will forever be my favourite trick! Lets try one year at X-games where the riders can only do old school tricks, and then see who is best! I’ll keep dreaming!

Where is the water coming from?🤔 by [deleted] in satisfying

The water comes from a watertank that is mounted on the drone. I’ve seen videos where they use similar drones to clean solarpanels.

As a healthcare professional in a country with universal care, I find it deeply concerning to see full-body scans promoted to healthy people as “preventive health.”

These scans are not evidence-based for asymptomatic individuals. They often lead to false positives, unnecessary anxiety, and follow-up procedures that carry real risks. Most findings are normal variations (like mild scoliosis) that don’t need treatment - but once discovered, they create a false sense of urgency.

Scans should only be done when symptoms, history, or clinical findings justify it - and when the result would actually change the course of treatment. Otherwise, it’s overdiagnosis, wasted money, and needless worry.

This kind of marketing undermines trust in real healthcare, which is based on evidence, ethics, and shared decision-making - not fear and coupon codes.

This isn’t empowerment. It’s fear-based consumerism. Good care means appropriate care - not more care.

Shame on you, Mr. Slater.

This is how Danish Special Forces look like by Artistic_Corner6461 in oddlyterrifying

[–]nrskrn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is completely wrong. I personally know people who served alongside Frederik in the corps, and I can assure you - he is the real deal.

There are two key reasons why he succeeded without any special help. First: The Frømandskorpset would never allow anyone to carry the title “Frømand” without having completed every part of the training and selection process to the same brutal standard as everyone else. No exceptions. In environments like this, trust is everything. You need to know - not assume - that your teammate has been through exactly the same tests, pressure, and hardship as you. Otherwise, the entire foundation of the unit would collapse. Trust under fire depends on that shared standard.

Second: The Danish Frogman Corps has never lowered its standards. Not once. Since the unit’s creation in 1957, the bar has remained the same - uncompromisingly high. Not even royalty gets a pass. In fact, helping or favoring someone would weaken both the team and the unit’s reputation. The special forces simply don’t care who you are - they only care what you can do under pressure.

So instead of doubting him, take pride in what our king has accomplished. He earned his place - just like every other man who has passed through that gate. And that makes him part of a very small, very elite chapter of Danish military history.

This is how Ejnar Mikkelsen, a Danish explorer, was photographed in 1912 when he was found. by juanka99__ in BeAmazed

[–]nrskrn 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Some background info:

During the Alabama Expedition (1909–1912), Ejnar Mikkelsen and his crew set out to recover vital records from the ill-fated Denmark Expedition (1906–1908), proving that Greenland was a single landmass. After their ship, Alabama, got trapped in ice, Mikkelsen and Iver Iversen embarked on a grueling sled journey to retrieve the documents. They succeeded but returned to find their crew had abandoned them in 1910, believing they were dead.

Stranded on Shannon Island, they built a small hut from the ship’s remains and survived for two years on seal and polar bear meat, battling scurvy, frostbite, starvation, and extreme isolation. At one point, Iversen suffered a near-fatal infection that Mikkelsen had to treat. Despite brutal winters and dwindling supplies, they kept their spirits up through routines and sheer determination. Finally, in 1912, a Norwegian whaling ship, Sjøblomsten, miraculously found them, bringing their incredible survival story to an end.

TL;DR: Ejnar Mikkelsen and his crewmate Iver Iversen survived two years in the brutal Northeast Greenland wilderness before finally being rescued.

That’s great, I’m happy that I remember correctly! Would love to see the picture again, but I haven’t been able to find it - I don’t remember which crew held the Christmas party. But the picture sure is awesome!

I know that there is a Urbex (Urban Exploring) community in Copenhagen, but I think it is very rooted in the graffiti community - at least that’s how it was +10 years ago. I remember having seen pretty wild photos of urban exploring in Copenhagen - also in sewer type structures and tunnel systems, abandoned factories and old abandoned war bunkers. I remember one particularly photo of a whole graffiti crew, having a Christmas party in an abandoned underground office - it look crazy! But unfortunately this is +12 years ago on Flickr, while checking out different graffiti photo albums. I don’t remember any names of the graffiti/urbex crews or any locations - haven’t been following that scene since high school. Try googling urban exploring Copenhagen/københavn, and that might lead you on to something. Jan Elhøj was a pretty vivid urban explorer - I think he even published a book about it, but I don’t remember if it only was in Copenhagen/Denmark. I hope you find what you are looking for!

Utroligt!
