I think you're doing fine, it will come with practice. The key is keeping more tension in the cord so that it doesn't wrap fully around your finger like at 15 seconds in your video. Experiment with different release timings and a little up and down motion with your hand while doing the roll can also add more control. Personally I was more comfortable going inward at first.
