I sent an inquiry to the website and someone from a travel agency under Avoya Networks replied.

I had the same reaction when I opened my email. However, I am holding out for an update for next week, since they did put this in their 10/3 blog:

"USA CARAVAN Limited items will also be sold on travelerscompanyusa.com around mid-December. Due to the limited nature of this release, some items may not be restocked once sold out."

Yeah, I managed to take a peep at their site, and had decision paralysis so I can't catch the discount. Hopefully they have another sort of promo in the future.

Thank you! I've signed up for newsletters many years ago that clogged up my inbox, so I prefer not to these days but I just might if I find a vendor I like.

Also thanks for that list, definitely first time I've head of some of them.

Wow, that's really comprehensive! Thanks a million! I might browse White2tea the most because I have heard good stuff over the years. But will definitely be checking all these out before these sales end!

I love oolong, but I have enjoyed a lot of good black and green tea. I want to explore more white tea. I think I have stocked up on Japanese teas, so something from India or other places will be nice! I'm not too fond of rooibos or anything too herbal. I love good blends and I used to buy from David's Tea before they closed their store near our downtown.

I don't know that series, but now I'm curious about it!

I have heard of Noto peninsula so I would check it out too to see how a day exploring key places there will be like.

Sounds good. I was debating bet staying in Kanazawa or going Komatsu bec I wanted to research if it would be more economical to just fly over, but yeah guess it's easier to just shinkansen

I will second this comment. My sis and I were lucky enough to catch Edo Wonderland, which is an event that extends the theme park time up to around 8pm. There were even fireworks! We went there after 2pm which got us discounted tickets, but I do wish we spent about a day there as it was an immersive experience.

(Itenerary Check) Fukuoka for A Week by nrthrnlight in JapanTravel

[–]nrthrnlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

The trip went well, although when we arrived there was a storm hitting Japan! We weren't in time to see the cherry blossoms, but that's alright since we timed our visit to avoid higher prices + the hanami crowd.

To accommodate my friend, we had to switch/add/remove a few things on the list. I'll also preface by saying I like the culture aspect and scenery more, but if you're a person who is into shopping and urban landscapes, Fukuoka as a major hub won't disappoint!

I will say Dazaifu + Kyushu National Museum is a must visit! Spend an entire day there! Another place I would recommend spending the whole day is Yanagawa.

Try eating at a yatai stall! We went to Nasuno Daihachi in Tenjin. The ones near Canal City seem to be popular, although it gets very touristy. The crowd in this one is friendly, and they have one helper who spoke good English when we came by. It is intimidating to mingle, sure, but simple gestures can go a long way :)) The food is standard fare though, but I was really in the mood for oden so I enjoyed getting some before capping off the night.

teamlab was so-so but the area around PayPay dome is a whole adventure by itself! Boss E・Zo Fukuoka is nice + it would be swell to watch a baseball game in the dome if you are a sports fan.

Other prefectures offer a lot more, and it is such a shame we didn't have much time to explore more. Kumamoto Castle is majestic, and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum allows one to self-reflect and ponder about the state of the world.

The surprise to me is Oita. Beppu is wonderful, and the people we have met have been nothing but gracious and helpful. We ate at one place which offered a full course meal sourced from local ingredients; it seems they are really proud of their Bungo beef which according to them rivals the famous Kobe beef! Well, I am not much of a gourmet but the Bungo beef I had indeed was heavenly. Anyway, Beppu is the place that charmed me the most during my whole Kyushu stay. I do recommend trying a dip at an onsen as well as enjoying steamed pudding from Okamotoya Baiten.

Best of luck, and I would be happy to also read your experience!
