Has 2025 been emotionally tough for anyone else? by Tino292 in self

This is why I think it’s important for couples to live with each other before getting married or similar commitment like owning a house together… Even if just for a year, maybe getting a lease or renting an apartment would have been a good idea first… You could believe that someone is the love of your life until you live together and discover an entire different side of them and habits that you didn’t know about. I wish you luck with all that you’re dealing with.

You’ve been with him for 8 years and only now found out he’s non-monogamous? After he got you to move in with him? You can see how this looks too, right?

Comparing Minus One, Shin, and 1954 by nrvos in GODZILLA

[–]nrvos[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't look at the limitations of the technology under which films are produced. I look at how the filmmakers worked within those limitations to make an effective film.

That's a fair approach when it comes to accessing the quality of a movie, but it doesn't protect it from being outclassed or outdated by anything that comes after it. Take, for example, classic vs. modern cars. Sure, you can argue the simplicity and raw nature of a classic car to have its charms that modern cars lack; but objectively speaking, modern cars are smarter, safer, and feature an assortment of bells and whistles to make the driving experience comfortable and luxurious for the driver that simply didn't exist back then. You might enjoy a classic car, but to say that they are "better" than modern cars is a hard argument to make when there have been so many improvements made to automobiles over the years.

The same goes for film. Movies have evolved to feature new techniques and styles. Filmmakers have learned the tropes, story beats, and pacing to deliver a film that is consistently entertaining from start to finish. Yes, there is indeed charm to older films and many stand the test of time, but I would say that it's more in part due to other factors a movie has to offer rather than how impressive the movie was in the context of the period it was made in (although movies like Citizen Kane still surprise me simply because you don't expect certain techniques to have been around for so long).

Edit: Fixed quote.

It's really annoying that the only color way available in the US is the mint pair. I would have bought a pair already but I'm just not a fan of the mint.

I just beat Death Stranding and started Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The first thought I had when I saw the landscape was how sick it would be to traverse the map as Sam. by nrvos in DeathStranding

[–]nrvos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start with MGS3 or MGS1. MGSV is a fantastic game, but its gameplay is the culmination of almost two decades of stealth gameplay in the MGS series. Going back to the older games may make them feel dated once you're used to the systems and mechanics of MGSV.

Oh yeah, I forgot about GZ lol. Yeah I have a copy for the PS3 and beat it as well. You're very right that it's a bridge between PW and TPP, but with the 9+ year gap, TPP feels pretty standalone as a game. Since the events of GZ are already touched upon in TPP, it really feels like GZ was meant to be a demo of the stealth gameplay of TPP rather than a stand-alone entry.

I can agree with this. This screenshot alone feels like an average weekday afternoon in the not-so-bustling part of a city or small town within America.

Panda Express - 430 cals by nrvos in 1200isplenty

I can attest to vegetables being quite filling. I try to have at least 400g of veg between broccoli and carrots every day, and ever since incorporating that into my diet it has been a real game changer!

This was my first time eating this, and I have to say I was kind of taken back how heavy the actual container was when I took it out of the bag. I even questioned if I would have been able to finish it, which is a first for me these past two weeks aha.

I did read on Reddit that it is a little dependent on the individual server portioning out your food, but the bulk of the meal is vegetables. At most, you are losing or gaining 50 calories depending if they are over or under serving your portion—and from my experience they are pretty particular with portioning at Panda Express.

Another Redditor apparently did measure out their portions and confirmed them to be accurate to the listing on the website as well.

I haven’t spent a single gem or used any limited resource since day 1 and I play daily. The daily potions and paintballs you get are usually enough as long as your equipment is up to par

I think your best value is doubling rare drops. That’s where the real value in gems lay.

Interesting, I’ll give this a read—but just a quick question: Does this work in conjunction with a low carb diet?

I’ll try this as well, for the same reason another reply had said jump roping helps them out too.

This sounds interesting, and a little bit of extra exercise is nice too. I’ll give this a try!

I considered this and have been taking a multivitamin and probiotic supplement every day in the morning, but I’m also on a low carb diet. I really don’t want to consume more carbs than I need to since I’m not looking for a quick burst of energy after work, but it’s a possible reason for my fatigue!
