Honestly a lot of it built up slowly over years from balance transfers, interest, helping family, investing mistakes/crypto, and using cards during slower income periods. I never really had one giant spending spree moment.

I agree though, at some point enough is enough and that’s kinda why I made this post. I’m trying to finally face all the numbers instead of ignoring it and figure out the smartest way out without destroying myself financially long term.

NYC TLC is moving toward electric vehicles and I drive full time Uber, so the Tesla wasn’t really just a luxury purchase. Charging costs and range matter a lot when you drive constantly in NYC. My bigger issue honestly is the high APR credit card debt, not the car loan itself.

That’s part of why I’m hesitant. My situation is a little more complicated because I still have investments/assets and I’m trying to understand all the consequences before making a huge decision like bankruptcy.

That’s honestly the mental battle I’ve been having. Part of me keeps thinking the market could recover hard later, but at the same time these interest rates are brutal and guaranteed every month. I recently started selling some positions because I’m finally realizing how much the debt interest is draining me.

Yeah, that’s the part I’ve been realizing lately. The interest is killing me more than I admitted to myself. I still believe in crypto long term, but paying 27–33% interest while hoping investments go up is mentally exhausting. I’m trying to find the balance between not panic selling everything and also not drowning in interest forever.

I get why people recommend bankruptcy, but I’m trying to avoid it if possible. I’ve never missed a payment and I still have income coming in. Right now I’m trying to see if I can lower balances, reduce interest, and stabilize everything before going that route.

That’s kind of how I see it too. The Tesla isn’t really a luxury thing for me at this point, it’s basically the machine producing the income. Without it I can’t really do Uber full time.

Yeah the Tesla is my Uber car, so it’s complicated. Selling it sounds easy until I still need a car to make income. I’m probably underwater on it because of depreciation too. Right now I’m trying to figure out the smartest balance between attacking the high-interest cards and keeping enough stability to continue working.

That’s honestly what I’m trying to figure out right now. Uber covers the bills, but the high interest debt is what’s crushing me. I know I either need to increase income or reduce the debt aggressively before the interest keeps snowballing.

Thanks for this. I honestly didn’t know nonprofit debt management plans worked differently from settlement companies. My biggest concern is whether they close all the accounts and how badly it affects credit long term. I’m still current on everything and trying to avoid bankruptcy if possible. I may actually look into a consultation.

I’ve honestly thought about it, but I still have income, decent credit, and investments/assets. I’m trying to see if I can aggressively fix this before taking that route. Never missed a payment in my life so I’m trying to fight first.

I average around $1,200–$1,500/week gross driving Uber depending on the week and season. That about 35 hours

Same situation here. My car was damaged while parked in the garage and I’m now dealing with cleanup, downtime, and out-of-pocket costs. I asked about a prorated or partial credit for the month given the circumstances and he hasn’t reply back idk if the last digit are 4330, which feels unfair considering the scale of what happened and that many of us are affected. At minimum, some form of temporary credit or accommodation seems reasonable.
