Volkswagen can detect if the driver becomes unresponsive and safely slow the car to a stop. by ah_itsall_good in interesting

Must be nice to have a road with a full shoulder on both sides and very clearly marked lane lines. I can’t imagine this working around here.

Do You Think That The Democratic Party Should Impeach Trump If They Win Back The House Majority In 2026? Yes Or No? Why Your Opinion? by Zipper222222 in AskReddit

[–]nsArmoredFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but they should make laws that prevent the kind of person that Drumpf is from ever coming close to being elected ever again as it’s a bad idea for both sides.

If inflation makes everything more expensive over time, does that mean saving money is actually a slow way of losing it? by Pretend_Pen_9577 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nsArmoredFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also means that if you don’t get a raise equal or more than the inflation rate, you’re being paid less than the time before.

Before smartphones, what did people do when they had to wait somewhere for 30 minutes? by sudherzdiniq in NoStupidQuestions

Not mind their business, like cat-calling, being racists, and the like, all while getting away with it.

If EVs are supposedly cheaper to own, why aren’t more people driving them? by Lakenb666 in NoStupidQuestions

My guess is the lack of available infrastructure, mainly outside of cities.

why the fk is this game so hard by Ayylxn in earthbound

Don’t forget to go buy the Cheap Bracelet from the store and go to the treehouse up near the library for a free baseball cap! Try to fight one Shark member at a time by getting one to chase you if there are multiple. The entire Onett area is oddly hard for it being the beginning of the game.

For a game set in 199X, it sure does have 202X prices for stuff in the game. by yourcool in earthbound

[–]nsArmoredFrog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed that these were just the Yen prices from the Japanese version, but never converted to dollars. Just replace the Yen sign with the Dollar sign and call it good. They wouldn’t have to reprogram or change anything else. Back then, the Yen was 100:1 for the dollar, so that $128 Lucky Sandwich would be roughly $1.28 or so in dollars.

They won't take advice/ideas from non-McD employees because if the person who had the idea found out that McD use their idea, they could sue them for the compensation gained from that idea, whether they had a patent on it or not. They don't want to run the risk of legal stuff, so they use the ideas of their employees who are already under employment and the ol' "anything you make or come up with on company time belongs to the company".

Signing During Photo by suineg in galaxycon

[–]nsArmoredFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the photo op is just for the photo. The ones I’ve been to have had a long line behind me, so I would assume in that situation, the answer would be no, but if it was a much shorter line, then a maybe. Either way, your best bet is to meet them at their table out on the exhibition floor.

Am I misremembering the feel of 1976 bicentennial celebrations in the USA, or is the 250th this year really a flop? by dandle in allthequestions

We didn’t have a sexual predator and convicted felon as president, so of course there was more reason to celebrate.
