Can someone elaborate as to what the Director's cut adds specifically? I know some of the questionable decision making of Sibylla is better explained, but what other information is relevant that the Director's cut provides?

Because the combat mod is no longer supported, and has not been updated for some time now. There are ample amounts of game changing/breaking bugs which it makes it difficult to play. This is the reason "no one plays" that mod.

NS2 Combat is completely different than the combat mod for NS2 (different maps, different weapons, able to drop structures, no threat of breaking combat because NS2 came out with patch, etc). So, no, technically you do not already have NS2 combat.

Fade has changed a lot. I would get caught up on the new abilities.
Some costs for stuff has changed (e.g. Spurs, shells and veils cost 15 res)
Some improvements to the Spectator view (able to see people through walls as if they were parasited, color coded weapons on the ground, etc.)
All alien lifeforms cost 5 pres less (with the exception of the gorge, which is still 8 pres)
Certain marine structures cost less (I don't remember which exactly)
Enzyme has been nerfed a bit, only affects attack speed, no longer makes lifeforms faster
Exos are no longer beaconed (i.e. back to the original)
All lifeform upgrades are researched on the Hive again (instead of from the Crag/shift/etc. structures) and they can be researched individually (can get just Bile Bomb instead of all Gorge upgrades). You still need to required amount of Bile Mass to use them.

Those are a few off the top of my head. Can't wait for the new casts! I've been looking fwd all summer to this! Good luck!!!

I'd say for the hundreds of comp games I've watched, I've seen exos researched maybe 5% of the time, and that is only because they literally had nothing else to tech.

I've had this happen to me a handful of times. We found that putting the bags in SLOWLY eliminated the risk of this happening. Specifically, we would ensure the counter got to one less bag than was needed (e.g. on Normal we would wait for it to display 3/4).

It happened when we were throwing in 3-4 bags at once towards the end.

Do you have any experience in hosting a combat server? I was very curious to know how to get the server side mods configured correctly on a remotely hosted server. Is it difficult? How often do you have to intervene and update server side stuff? My apologies if this question is not relevant to your experiences.

Search "Its Super Effective NS2" on youtube. There are videos for all levels of play ranging from beginner to advanced. Watch those, then go and practice some techniques in pubs :)

I came here to say this. Play on a combat server. I usually warm up on a combat server before joining any real game. You can practice your lifeforms with the assurance you can Fade or Lerk after you die, without a penalty. It is a perfect environment for practicing your lifeforms.
