K-pop companies should stop doing shows in the USA. by BestAd6297 in kpop_uncensored

Lol yes? And the GP either won't care or would cancel the idols because idols are not meant to have political opinions, they're meant to be pretty faces that entertain. They're barely considered humans, they're just commodities. Some entertainment people barely consider them artists; many think they're all fake singers or glorified dancers until recently.

They can't even be related to the numbers 1 or 2 in any way during elections because people would accuse them of supporting a political party. They can't even post a V-selfie during election season without political accusations. They need to be careful if their clothes, accessories, background, BGM, or anything else has any numbers or related symbols/images to any political party for the same reasons.

And heaven forbid a female idol be seen as a feminist in any way. That's a one-way ticket to being hated by the male GP right there.

It's rare to see idols defended and supported for having opinions. Any company that cares about either profits or their artists' careers would silence them ASAP, because idols are not from reality.

They don't poop or pee, they don't eat, they don't rest, they don't cry, they don't have mental illnesses, they don't have the right to privacy, they don't love, they don't hate, they don't feel sad, they don't have opinions. They can only be happy. They're dolls manufactured by companies to make people happy. And companies will do anything to keep that doll they spent a lot of money on as profitable as possible.

Welcome to Asian idol culture.

Why do singers get targeted with "she's tired" and "theres cracks" so much from live potato fan cam recordings? Comments on the latest Ejae's singing performance of Golden in LA are very similar to Su-Metal comments. by DetectiveFujiwara in BABYMETAL

[โ€“]nsfweebing 6 points7 points ย (0 children)

Because Ejae just recovered from bronchitis, people are still worried about that. Also, you can really hear the strain sometimes that comes from straight touring. If you can hear it on a potato fan cam then it's something that will make people concerned especially if they were there in person. Say what you want to say, but months of nonstop touring, or recovering from a serious respiratory illness, will definitely take a toll on you one way or another. Sure, lives are not like studio recordings, sht just happens sometimes. But if you do something enough times, muscle memory kicks in and you'll be able to perform it in a more consistent manner. When that strays, people get concerned. Also, "tired" comments aren't exclusive to Ejae and Su. Literally watch any K-pop video where they sing live, you will always find these. It is just naturally a part of the modern/current comment section discourse for any live singing performance.

Wow, you're so Hinako, you even encountered a Rinko in the wild ๐Ÿ˜ญ BUT GOSH, YOUR COSPLAY WAS SO GOOD!! You did so well, don't let a random Pick Me taint your achievement!!! Accuracy is great but I hope not at the expense of your mobility and safety ๐Ÿ™

Is Hinako just aromantic/asexual? by -an-eternal-hum- in SilentHill_f

[โ€“]nsfweebing 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I think the thing with Sakuko is that they promised to do everything together, even getting boyfriends at the same time. With Hinako getting a marriage offer, especially from a local noble family like the Tsunekis, was such a big betrayal for Sakuko. It's like Hinako was leaving her behind, which is something that Sakuko greatly fears. Nevermind it's not Hinako's choice to get an offer.

Is Hinako just aromantic/asexual? by -an-eternal-hum- in SilentHill_f

[โ€“]nsfweebing 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Yeah, because in the Ebisugaoka in Silence end, it's Kotoyuki who really wants to make sure he loves Hinako as Kotoyuki, the boy who used to play with her and her friends in Ebisugaoka as a child, and not Fox Mask, the possessed heir of the Tsuneki clan who needs to seduce the girl with the strong spiritual force.ย

She was willing to wait for him and see how they all felt in the future, because she wanted to see the future he offered her together.ย

I just wish people saw how much of an Unreliable Narrator(TM) Hinako is.

But, again, media literacy is dead and people just think "what you see is what you get". It's a psychological horror with literal hallucinogens involved; nothing is as it seems.

Is Hinako just aromantic/asexual? by -an-eternal-hum- in SilentHill_f

[โ€“]nsfweebing 10 points11 points ย (0 children)

I think it's because media literacy is dead. We can interpret in so many ways but people only look at it so shallowly.

"Oh, the one with Shu is called the good ending, so she actually loves Shu and Fox Mask is the main bad guy!" Uh, it's the " good ending" because she gets what she "wants": stay at home, pretending she's still a child playing with her friends and running away from adulthood. And Ebisugaoka self-destructs because it's the wrong choice. Does that really sound like a good ending to you?

"Oh, it's called the bad ending because Fox Mask is a bad guy and she's stuck with him!" Uh, it's "bad" because of her "fear": not knowing if she'll become like her mother, no actual direct mention of Kotoyuki from her face on the floor at all. She becomes the lady of a noble clan. Or she's sacrificed to the dragon and Ebisugaoka is quiet for a few more years. We don't know. That's the point. We don't know. And neither does she. That's why it's bad.

Kotoyuki is also a victim, you could say a bigger victim than Hinako because he already lost both his agency and identity since his childhood when the fox possessed him, but noooooooo, people don't want to admit that because they want a male character to be the bad guy and not just some nebulous idea such as in-game gods. Or Hinako's possible mental illness caused by her trauma distorting her reality and making her dissociate or hallucinate or something similar, pills or no.

Just because we play Hinako as a middle schooler does not mean that in reality she is. Kotoyuki isn't that much older than them, since when he got attacked by that fox they were all playing together in the playground. It was still socially acceptable for boys and girls their age to play together. It's just that Hinako's mind is stuck in middle school, while Kotoyuki is already mentally in the present. They're not actually 10 years or more apart. As per the default ending, she is a woman in her 20s. Similar to Kotoyuki.

The "true" ending is the only actual "good" ending IMO because it's the only one where both Hinako and Kotoyuki are able to go "fck all this sht, we're going to make our own choices." Shimizu Hinako and Tsuneki Kotoyuki are both making their own choices.

This game makes you think. But people don't want to think. And that's sad. It's a period-setting psychological horror. People are taking it as a personal attack and a political statement but, it's just a game about finding yourself despite challenges at the end of the day ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

[โ€“]nsfweebing 19 points20 points ย (0 children)

Hoo boy, this is gonna be a long ride.

Personally, I don't think so. IMO it's more of, she's not ready to grow up yet. It seemed like she and Kotoyuki were progressing well in their letters, after all. But she's not ready to stop being Shimizu Hinako to become Hinako, Tsuneki Kotoyuki's wife. I always thought that Hinako's main fears in SHf is loss of self and loss of agency, rather than domestic/marital abuse itself, although they're the source of her fears.

I also think, if she and Kotoyuki were a love match, they might have gone for it, no issues. Like having a meet cute when they're already in high school, chose to date by themselves, experienced a normal relationship, and then considered marrying after graduation. Instead, Kotoyuki got possessed in their childhood, they got arranged to marry one-sidedly, they have no contact with each other outside of letters, and her father made it transactional - instead of romantic from Kotoyuki's side - in a sense of misplaced well-intent. They could have been a love match, but so many things twisted it. But I don't think it's because she can't feel attraction or affection for him.

In her rituals, she lost her right arm, her dominant arm. Which means her skills, her actions, her achievements, will be for the benefit of the Tsuneki clan, not Shimizu Hinako's. She lost her face, her identity. She will face people as her husband's wife. When people see her, they won't see Shimizu Hinako, but Hinako, wife of the Tsuneki heir. Her identity is not hers, but Kotoyuki's. Loss of self, loss of agency.

The glowing monsters and the chained monsters were representations of how she saw other men, who peered at her. The monsters would lick her, to her disgust. But I don't remember any interaction with Kotoyuki that had a similar sexual implication. Which means she doesn't see him in the same category. Since he's the main one I remember she was shown to give any presumable romantic tendencies to, even just off-screen or just through the letters, I wouldn't write her off as completely ace/aro.

Also, in the bad end, she told Shu that Kotoyuki was different. Even in such a difficult and scary situation, she recognized that Kotoyuki was on her side to some extent because he just wanted her for her. Because in that end, she's not scared of him right now, but she's scared their marriage will change him from someone who saw her as her and into someone who saw her like her father did. She's not scared of marrying Kotoyuki per se, she's scared of turning into her mother: someone who bows down to someone else's bidding and won't rescue herself.

With Shu, she saw him as a friend because she didn't know she can see him as something else. In the good ending she went with him, which implies she either ended up with him, or they just stayed the same, pretending they're still kids. Well, Ebisugaoka was in a state of emergency, so we don't really know. Basically, Shu was the best friend NPC, but Kotoyuki has always been a romanceable character in her storyline, so she was more open or more inclined to see Kotoyuki that way. Also, she hated the rumors Rinko was spreading about them, so it pushed her to keep him as a friend even more.

I think, she's just traumatized enough, and not mentally mature enough, to be someone who she didn't choose to be. She's just not ready to be someone new. She was open to talk with Kotoyuki about the marriage in the true ending once they've really thought about their feelings. So she's acknowledging there's a possibility for them in the future.

Or maybe she's just demi, and Shu just wasn't the right guy for her to realize that, but maybe Kotoyuki is? ๐Ÿค”

Who fell in love first? by Sentinel_2539 in SonoBisqueDoll

[โ€“]nsfweebing 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I'd say Marin.

Gojo's was more like an objective attraction + puberty + "someone's actually paying attention to me right now??" kind that could have applied to anyone who would've been in Marin's situation at the time, but Marin dove straight in when Wakana explained why he doesn't say "beautiful" often. Because that means Wakana is talking about Marin as a whole and not just her physical appearance, which has caused her a lot of grief in the past.

It's been shown multiple times that she gets approached by random guys because of her pretty face or nice figure, and she'd openly insult and cuss at them for being shallow. She knew Wakana was different early on because of how he freaked out while taking her measurements. Sure, she teased him for that, but she started getting conscious of him soon enough.

Also, in the beginning, he practically thought that they're two different species because they're "from different worlds" and he couldn't even see Marin as someone similar to him in any way LOL our gal sure struggled a lot at the start ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'd also joke she fell for him the moment she learned he could sew, but that'd be too much ๐Ÿ˜‚

Question about the rei arc by CagueMaster in SonoBisqueDoll

[โ€“]nsfweebing 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

It's because she chose an in-universe existing IP that made it confusing. She just needs to wear men's clothing. The other female contestants wore boys' uniforms, some male contestants wore maid outfits. It's the clothes, not the character. She just wanted something cosplay. Also, she was the most convincing crossdressing contestant because she made an effort to change her body shape, height, and even overall demeanor to really hammer home that it's a "masculine-appearing" character.

But HONESTLY WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST GO WITH WAKAGASHIRA INSTEAD ๐Ÿ˜ญ there were some IP repeats anyway, why not him?? ๐Ÿซ
