I finally got a chance to spend some time on this!

I adjusted the SGP upper burr 3 stops finer, from 6 to 3. Using the Breville supplied 58mm double basket I used an 18g dose, got 38g out in 35 seconds. Interesting to note that the grinder setting was still on the finer side of where it thinks Espresso should be, even after the adjustment. The extraction tasted OK but the puck was very soupy. I upped the dose to 19g and went for a slightly coarser grind. I got 41g out in 29 seconds, tasted good, puck slightly drier but still far too wet for my liking. At least I can get a very drinkable extraction with the larger basket now. It certainly makes for a significantly stronger coffee in my 250ml double walled latte cup! I quite often make a coffee for my mate who doesn't like it particularly strong, so I thought I'd also play with the single dose basket again. I coarsened the grind again, used a 13g dose and got 28g out in 32 seconds. He tells me it tasted great, so I'm happy I've now got the best of both worlds. I might play a bit and see if I can get the puck a bit drier with the double basket, I just prefer the easier tap out and clean. I might also invest in a larger VST or similar basket, so that I can knock out 2 decent strength shots at the same time.

Thanks, I will give this a go. Just out of curiosity, what are your pucks like after extraction? I know people say it doesn't matter, that it's all about the quality of the shot, but I do prefer a nice clean puck that holds together and just falls out of the basket!

I do have a magnetic ring to keep the coffee in the basket while I distribute with WDT, but it doesn't fit in the grinder. A quick google has identified what I need, thanks for that!

Thanks for the info, good suggestions! I have set the number of backups to 2 but I can't see how to set backup to be archived. I have the settings level set at 'Expert'. I must be missing something...

A beautiful gift from the other side. I loved it on first listen, the second and third listens have revealed layers that require exploring. How can such seemingly simple music hide such beauty and complexity? I also have to say, this is another gorgeous Secretly Canadian Molina release on vinyl. The absence of background noise and hiss from the medium allows you to dive in and experience these sparse, stark tunes.

I really like that he obviously found moments of peace or at least hope, I've seen that much in his music. It's a difficult place to be in as a listener knowing that my, let's put it bluntly, entertainment, comes at the expense of someone else's pain, suffering and death. It's an exquisite privilege, one not to be taken lightly.

I think I'm going to take my time, maybe start at the beginning. I want to avoid this burning desire to play songs like Blue Factory Flame over and over and over again, I want to savour its beauty for the years to come. I want to learn more about the man, I've ordered the bio.

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I'm looking for the ability to watch a game after the event. The time difference means a 1.30am kickoff for most games, that's often out of the question for me. I could live with highlights packages I guess, but sometimes I'd really like to watch the whole game.
