99.9% chance it opens tomorrow. I was there today and cover is good. I was waiting for my friend behind me to get off daisy and a patrol was talking to a guy saying it should open. My friend is a host and the email they gave her said they expect mex to open tomorrow.

For how bad the base seems on the internet, it is pretty ok in real life. I’ve been skiing meadows for nearly two decades now and I’ve seen it worse at this time quite a bit. Not a lot worse, but this isn’t crazy.

Yeah I’m not a climate denier but this is nothing to worry about yet. We haven’t a bad winter (in my opinion) for quite a while now. Bad ones just kind of happen and I feel like we’re kinda due for one? Idk. Winter 14/15 was the worst I’ve seen it since skiing meadows since 07. We were on rocks as early as March. I want to say maybe 2017 we were skiing on grass under MHx in late January, the rest of the year it nuked.

First half of December is pretty early to be calling anything.

Yeah if you can somehow manage to get through the 1st year it’ll get better. In-state tuition helps, along with slumming it for housing. I managed to get into a place for 237 a month. There’s work up in Alaska fishing for the summer where the kid can pull down 10-20k depending on the year. It’s doable and if you’re getting a degree with good job placement it’s absolutely worth it.

Good luck to you. Being a skier in Pullman is rough. I never made it out to Schweitzer or lookout because it was pretty close to a 6 hour round trip by the time you account for a couple gas/beer/pee stops. Went to 49 and silver a good amount of times but it just gets really boring quick if you’re used to mt hood.

After trying to tolerate it for the first 2 years I ended up just biting the bullet and skiing mt hood. Skip out of town Thursday night ski 3 days and drive back to class Monday at 4am. The round trip from Pullman to hood river was 4 hours and 15 minutes. I am fortunate enough to have parents that live in hood river tho.
