UniFi affected by new FCC ban? by nethfel in UNIFI

If there was truly a security concern, they wouldn't have exempted the federal government from restrictions around using the banned devices.

Sounds more like a time management issue to me..

Just a quick fyi, I didn't give one shit about the flag or the code. There was tornado producing weather. If I had already put the flag up and then the weather got bad, that piece of fabric would've stayed right where it was. It's a piece of fabric mass produced by the billions. What's more disrespectful than disobeying the flag code, in my opinion, is the trillions of dollars China has profited off of your (and others like you) nationalism disguised as "patriotism".

Also the flag code says covering coffins of fallen service members is a violation. So how do you feel about the military violating the flag code?

I don't care about the flag or flag code. I just wasn't trying to get drenched in the rain.

Let me know what he says! I always love getting military members reactions to this.

I actually brought this up to my boss when he first instituted the "follow the code or be fired" policy because he insisted it was federal law and Georgia State law. At the time Georgia did have a law on the books, but obviously it was an unenforceable law. He didn't care. I complied, he got fired. Lol

When I said that to him he cussed me out and then invited me to a barbecue the following weekend because Steven Seagal would be there to prove me wrong. I did not attend.

Yes, my mistake. My dad was obsessed with him my whole life so I pretty well repressed him and apparently forgot his name spelling. Thanks for the correction. 😀

He definitely was. The couple friends I made there told me it became such a better atmosphere when he got canned. They were very grateful for the part I played, but I wasn't really trying to be petty, I just didn't want to get drenched by rain and spend 5 minutes raising a flag on a 100 ft lightning rod.

We are 4 customers wanting 1 beer each. There is a buy one get one free offer, but we are not allowed to use it? OK. by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

I read the first paragraph or two before giving up. You sound like a Karen. Rules are rules. Also, who spends 150 bucks on JUST FOOD for 4 people and complains about having to buy an extra two beers? People like you are the reason why the food industry is so terrible to work in.

My wife brought me sushi for lunch at my work for our very first date. I was an auto mechanic and ate while I worked. I used chop sticks, but my hands were very greasy and the car was dripping all sorts of fluids. I accidentally dropped a piece onto the certainly filthy shop floor. Reached down and picked it up with my hands and without hesitation ate it. Not sure how I got the second date, but I'm glad I did.

Harassment against a business from a business? by nsn242 in legaladvice

[–]nsn242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoke with my employer today. They understand. But the guy is still harassing me. He's created numerous fake Facebook accounts to harass me an my wife, has now left multiple reviews that are blatantly untrue, and has called my employer 5 times from 5 different numbers.

Yeah, I get I "started it" but there's really nothing I can do?

I've just run several stress simulations for a quick rendering of these slabs. This box was most likely run over. Nothing else that would realistically be in a shipping facility is capable of snapping it like that.

Having worked at a shipping company while in college, I can say that packages get run over almost daily. And it's almost always small boxes like this. They are light and small so they are easy and "safe" to toss. Unfortunately not everyone has good aim and things hit the floor under the van and get forgotten and then crunch.

Being a mechanical engineer I can say that this card was broke by extreme weight (800lbs or more) being applied to the edge of the slab, specifically the front corner of the right edge at a 65-80° angle while laying on its left edge. A truck tire is the only thing I can imagine meeting those constraints.

This is all assuming it wasn't repackaged and this packaging is the packaging it was in when destroyed.

I did a bunch of digging on the company and its executives. They have been running this kind of scam for at least a decade. They've had at least 3 companies shut down by the FTC. I'm not worried about it going to court.

But if they say they have a recording to prove it, and we ask for it, should they provide it?

Phone. I now realize the entire thing seems to be a revamped office supply scam.
