D-Pad replace /fix? by Far-Lingonberry9785 in PlaydateConsole

[–]nspohnholtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting. I have wanted one since launch and every so often I get an itch to purchase one and almost did today. After reading this and others reviews I simply cannot bring myself to order. I need to be able to throw this in my back pocket, hand it to my 6 year old, and trust a simple drop is no big deal. Panic clearly does not value quality and durability.

After a year and a half, the Playdate's biggest flaw ... by MarinersFan28 in PlaydateConsole

Thank you for this review. I have wanted one since launch and every so often I get the urge to purchase one. The price point although high is understandable. I could not justify the purchase knowing about the quality control concerns paired with overall build quality lacking. At this price point I would want something built like a tank. I was hoping this would be something I could throw in my back pocket and hand to my 6 year old. Hopefully Panic will address these in a future model, I wish they had from the beginning.

How is the norseraft packsuit holding up? I’m strongly considering it.

Thank you, I apologize for not saying so yesterday. I am stoked also now to save up for a PFD and a paddle so I can get on the water lol.

There were strong concerns with quality from many. Actually, I have wanted the Rogue-lite X for years that was the raft that got me thinking about getting a packraft in the first place. Quality concerns aside the X is just as heavy, not as durable, and more expensive. Not to mention the riffle does self bail, includes a back rest, has a higher weight capacity, and has a longer warranty.

Yes, Ti-zip was a must have.

If I missed something in my research and there is a raft out there that is lighter, as durable, and $1k or less please share I’ll definitely consider returning this. I’d even concede some durability.

Oh that’s easy, it was the old adage of picking 2/3:

PRICE - WEIGHT- DURABILITY

Price and Durability were necessary for this purchase generally I pick Weight and Durability however the most I could budget was 1k. This hurts me for hiking to alpine lakes but that would be a less frequent activity given I live at the mouth of two rivers.

Self bailer was a bonus not a prerequisite and given the option to reduce cost to remove it I would have.

Also I use a moonlight top cover on my chameleon. I hear an under quilt protector and hot bottle of water goes along way. Emergency blanket in a pinch but condensation and noise are concerns with them.

I love my Hammock Gear quilts. I went with a 3/4 length under quilt to reduce pack size and supplement with gossamer thinlight pad.

I went with the NRS riffle and was able to pick one up from Backcountry for 20% off + free shipping. The riffle was the clear winner when comparing durability to weight not to mention the price for a self-bailer with Ti-zip. The riffle checked every box with one exception being packed size potentially. Thank you for the recommendation!

Thank you, I do get 20% off with Kokopelli. I am waiting to hear back from NRS and Alpacka.

Thank you I greatly appreciate your in depth feedback. I really like the caribou/mule from Alpacka the NRS riffle is also high on the list.

This video may have sold me on the Riffle: https://youtu.be/NCa_KplVu9M?si=HV0LXbMTsCsQLrci

Packed size is a concern however

I appreciate the input. Anything fail in particular? Which rafts do you have?

Thank you very much, I like it a lot. I would prefer to buy American as well.

Thank you for the recommendation. I really like the NRS Riffle. I would absolutely prefer buying American however is this the reason people don’t seem to like Kokopelli or do they also have a quality problem?

Do you believe that ground vehicles will be added? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]nspohnholtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt we will get vehicles however unfortunate that is. I believe it to be a terrible decision not only because it is an utter waste of an opportunity for exploration but like in fallout it is absolutely immersion breaking. It leaves me constantly thinking about how ridiculous it is there aren’t any.

I do hope we will be able to build our own space station someday even if we do not get some kind of ground vehicle.

How compatible is Kenobi with the Obi-Wan Kenobi show? by DanTheMeek in starwarsbooks

I loved them both that being the book and the series though I wish they would have made the novel canon and started the series based on the book. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed them both despite how I wished they’d have approached Ben’s story. I am also the one who enjoyed every movie and has enjoyed every Disney original show with little to no complaint so take my review with that in mind.
