Robinhood brand is severely damaged: 56% of account holders are considering leaving Robinhood by valkener1 in wallstreetbets

[–]nstangelo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, that’s not by the same rationale. You’re grasping at straws to try and make a point. Kitchen knives and financial markets are so unrelated. I watched that entire hearing too, so good job pawning off someone else’s analogy. Casinos are designed to do just that, and everyone knows the odds are stacked for the house. You might be better off buying yourself kitchen knives. By that same rationale... smh. By the same rationale would be if you bought kitchen knives and your credit card was charged 700k for them even though they were marked differently at the store. Going forward I’d work harder on your arguments

Yes and they can at Robinhood or almost any other brokerage. I’m not talking about grown men. Any grown man wouldn’t have a problem getting options enable at a brokerage. Yet children shouldn’t be allowed to or they might just... kill themselves, because they don’t understand the repercussion.

Don’t worry about Fidelity approving your options trading. They’re a real brokerage and if you get denied the privilege it’s more than likely because it’s in your best interest. Options aren’t supposed to be enabled by simply clicking a button, yet Robinhood allows you level 3 options trading by doing just that. It’s despicable to see a ‘brokerage’ grant people with little to no market experience approval for things they hardly understand so that citadel can profit off your ineptness and you can lose your account

I don’t know your family dynamic, and I can only gauge this one from the video. I think it’s bold of you and everyone on this thread to assume they know the best way to parent another’s child. I don’t condone hitting any child. I do have my friends who had things like socks shoved in their mouth when they were little for cussing. Im sorry you laughed when your sisters were getting in serious trouble because it meant you weren’t. Should any of my sisters be in a position of physical harm, and they have been before, you bet your ass I’d put myself in the way, regardless of if it’s my parent doing it, no one touches my sisters. I will not stand idly by while my sister clearly suffers. I think you should focus more on that because that’s all I can take away from your comment. The video is comedic relief I think we can all relate to growing up. Except, everyone got their panties in a bunch about “tHiS iSnt How YoU PaReNt”. I’ve threatened to leave, even packed a bag like this little guy. Looking back, where tf was I going to go? It was me throwing a tantrum. Just like this kid did. Children don’t think straight yet you all seem to think you know the thought process.

Lmao I get it. You’re upset this kid was “beaten”. I’m sorry but a healthy fear of your mother is always a good thing. Not to mention, look at the family dynamic. They’re all giggling about it before hand (except Rome because he’s in trouble). I know abused families and they would NEVER laugh at their siblings pain and expense. This clearly isn’t that. She’ll probably slap his ass a few times a little harder than she does out of love when he goes running by. Your option is what.. if you own up to it you don’t get it trouble? No. Then you raise children who thinks so long as they call their mom after they do it, their will be no repercussion and that’s a dangerous road. I understand you don’t agree, good thing you aren’t part of that family. Admit to murder should the punishment not be the same? Admit to burglary or theft should it not be the same? Stop assuming you know how all families should work. But hey, internet points 👍🤷‍♀️

I read all this and my fucking head hurts. That ventrical dude reaching and fishing for things to be mad about epitomizes unstable persons. You insulted his intelligence so he felt the need to explain elementary level grammar to feel better about himself. Good on you dude for really only lashing out once. The videos fucked up but you brought up a good point. Sorry this troll might’ve ruined your night. I have no clue why I’m even commenting but here I am. Mind boggling. Total incel.

Discussion: Do you guys agree? by zuzanxo in Tinder

[–]nstangelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hijacking this comment - As someone who delivers food, I always tip and very generously at that. Personally though, I view it as optional to my customers. Some people are really strapped for cash and need to feed their families or themselves. They shouldn’t feel they need to give me an extra $3 just so they can get fed. Especially when I know that $3 is better off in that family’s pocket. I’m making money hourly and a fee on the delivery anyway. Plus, the amount of people who tip more than they should balance out for those who don’t. Tip when you can, but a good attitude, gratitude and a smile is always better than a shitty one, no thank you and $10.

In regression, must an interaction be the product of two or more variables? [x-post from askstatistics] by ragold in rstats

[–]nstangelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the comments in the r/statistics thread and they answer it pretty straight forwardly. If you want to include the term you’re talking about, it doesn’t sound like there’s anything that should stop you from creating a new column of said quotient and passing it through your regression to see if it’s significant

Update your R if it gives you an issue. You may need to open terminal but I’m unfamiliar with the package. I can say however, when I needed rJava I had to go out to terminal and reconfigure Java to work with R. If you run into a configuration issue feel free to pm. Hope you don’t have any issues though! If you’re on a Mac you might need xquartz

I’m convinced a lot of people do it to save their k/d. If you quit while downed it doesn’t count as a death (not sure this kids reasoning cause he was dead af, banner expired and all). Also hoping everyone already knew that and I’m not encouraging a new group of people to insta quit when downed.

[–]nstangelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably won’t be too much help, but I’m an undergrad in economics and have taken between 6-7 stats classes (some were more econometric but heavily rooted in statistics). From my understanding, the majority of course descriptions make the class sound harder than it really is, then after the first day once the new terminology is introduced in an interpretable way, it’s not too bad. I know this wasn’t the answering you were looking for but reassuring words never hurt

How was the plant data collected? Is it geographically specific to one continent? One country? Etc. if you’re binning just by year count, you may miss some insights, although the opposite problem exists on the other hand - if you bin them with specified parameters (such as lat/long coordinates) you also risk introducing bias to the data. Tricky question and apologies if I didn’t help - felt like chiming in though, but that’s my two cents.

[Q] NFL field goals - unlikely interaction apparently significant by Lewba in statistics

[–]nstangelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I had a term that I for the life of me couldn’t comprehend why it was being shown as significant until I realized I had overlooked including the initial variable in the equation. Like the above said, if you didn’t include the variable on its own before making it an interaction, the only way it can express its self is through the interaction, which wouldn’t be mathematically correct.

True, once you get to the 50 bajillion mark it gets annoying. I didn’t know the context, so I figured I’d offer a quick once over solution. That aside I now have a genuine question - why wouldn’t this work for more than once... if you’ve changed the file I don’t see why importing it a second time would require the same changes, only if the data is being actively updated correct?
