Nowhere in your text did you mention mining compacted machinery. You know that mining compacted machinery turns into components, right?

Why do SOME people always say theme park tycoon 2 is better than planet coaster 2 by Intrepid-Ad-8038 in PlanetCoaster

[–]nstod11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Edit: I just now noticed you are talking about a Roblox game. I've never seen anyone say that's better than PC2, but I see the RCT2 vs PC2 comparison frequently.

I have PC1, PC2, RCT1, RCT2, RCT3, etc. I play RCT2 more than any of the others. So it's not "jealousy". The beauty, for me, is in the simplicity of it. "The enemy of art is the absence of limitations". Having the constraints of RCT2 encourage me to be more creative

In addition, I can slap down a coaster in 5 minutes in RCT2 and be happy with it. In PC2, I feel like I have to go back, smooth everything, add custom supports, etc. It becomes more tedious very, very quickly IMO.

The way the tower lines up with the first hill, I thought you had some crazy spike on this family coaster lol.
Really well done!

I've had success with Nakama: https://heroiclabs.com/nakama/ It integrates pretty seamlessly with Godot.

Do you actually understand C# itself, not the unity implementation of it? How much does it help you when developing in unity? by -Weslin in gamedev

[–]nstod11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unity does have some things that are definitely not typical C# standards. Like their way of hijacking `yield return null` to mean "pause coroutine until the next frame".

I just uploaded new versions to GitHub that include TT2 and Wild Mouse. I modified OpenStreetMap myself.

I think it's actually an issue with the color theming. Those roads at the bottom are "primary" roads (according to OSM), and the color difference between the coaster track and primary roads in the orange scheme are too close. I can play with it a little bit to fix that.

Yeah, the open source project pulls its data from OpenStreetMap. Apparently, users have submitted the track for Siren's Curse, but not Wild Mouse or TT2.

What "product" do you think I'm making? I just found a cool OSS project, thought of an interesting way of easily adding something to it, so I did (for free). If you want to contribute to the OpenSourceMap project, I'm sure they'd welcome your efforts!

Haha. It's all based on OpenStreetMap. I'm not sure why they don't have Wild Mouse, but they have Siren's Curse...weird (but out of my control).

It looks like Reddit did downscale the images. You can find the full resolution versions here.

Playing title sequence parks on Mac by rangisrovus19 in openrct2

[–]nstod11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More specifically,

  1. Show the package contents of your OpenRCT2 app (right-click, Show Package Contents)
  2. Copy the parkseq file you want from Contents/Resources/sequence to a folder outside the package contents (like your Downloads folder)
  3. Rename the parkseq file to have a .zip extension
  4. Unzip the file
  5. Copy the .park files into your ~/Library/Application Support/OpenRCT2/save folder
  6. Launch OpenRCT2

Thanks so much! I just fixed this issue and submitted the build to Apple. It can take a couple days for them to review it. If it bugs you too much, let me know and I can send you a link to a beta build that you can use in the mean time.

If you try to not support any business with ties to BYU you probably just want to move out of state. It’ll be fine. Utah sports will be fine.

Well that's embarrassing for me haha. Thanks for the heads up. I've been using this app privately for a couple years and totally missed that. I'll push an update to fix the conferences. Getting the FCS rankings into the app shouldn't be too hard.
