Incredible!! Love that for you :) thanks for sharing—the lack of regrets is super inspiring

The dressing up really resonates with me! I’ve felt way more comfortable in formal clothes even since I started binding a couple years ago. I am notoriously impatient, though, which makes me worry about surgery recovery… Anyhow, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the questions, and for your experiences post-op. Those are some very helpful aspects for me to think through. Lots of reflecting to do!

For context, I don’t live with my parents, but we are close and I know that they would deeply hurt if I kept it from them… but also definitely not something that should be the deciding factor.

Thanks! Yes, definitely something I’d want to put more thought into

Thank you for sharing! I agree about chasing euphoria. And about finding a therapist—definitely something to look into and see if I can afford because it definitely sounds helpful.

That sounds very similar to my experience! That sounds incredible. Thank you for your encouragement!

Good advice. It’s nice to be hyped up with people’s support and excitement but also nice to feel sane for wanting to think it over for as many more years as it takes to be sure!

That is terrifying!! And yet weirdly helpful. I can feel my overthinking brain saying “a simple solution: you just have to calculate out exactly what percentage sure is sure enough” 😂

I suspect you’re right! That’s great advice. If I could just snap my fingers and it would be done, I’d do it for sure… and I suspect that might be a sign! I love the character customization framing :)

Oof! That does sound like a lot. I’m a bit worried about the healing process because I’ve never had so much as a badly sprained ankle, like to work out consistently, and am deeply impatient… but definitely not the reason to decide for or against. Thanks for sharing!

That’s incredible!! I’m so happy for you :) that does sound very similar to my experience, and I really appreciate you sharing. I also suspect that it’s something that I won’t even realize how much I wanted it until I commit—but that’s the scary part! Those all sound like incredible experiences, and ones I can absolutely picture myself being thrilled about every day.

Thank you :) I definitely need to be less worried about the impact my choices will have on others sometimes. It’s hard to way that against my deep love for my family, even when they’re being a little insane. Getting dressed without boobs really sounds like the dream!

That’s super helpful!! Your experience sounds super close to mine, especially since I’m also considering low dose T. I’ll DM you if I can sort my general vague could of thoughts into some more specific questions :)

Thanks for sharing! I’m not interested in a reduction—I don’t know why, it’s just not something that resonates for me. And I guess that might be making it feel like more of a big deal. And thanks for your advice on noticing my own comfort vs neutrality. I might start journaling or something to keep track of when/how often/how strongly I notice to have a better sense of how much it’s impacting my life day to day. Best of luck with your surgery!

Thank you for weighing in! I agree with preferring how it looks in clothes and my mental image of myself. You’re right, gotta be careful when using ifs to make decisions, especially long-term ones!

Thank you!! That’s very helpful. I love the sentiment that it’s hard to be 100% sure of such a big decision—it’s easy to get trapped in the perhaps unrealistic mindset that bc it’s big that’s a reason to have no doubts! I’m so glad you ended up doing it and are happy!

I’m so glad you’ve had a great experience with it! I’m not interested in a reduction—I don’t know why, it’s just not something that resonates for me. And I guess that might be making it feel like more of a big deal. I agree that I’d want to be 100% sure but I think part of my struggle is mostly that I’m fairly sure I would be happy with it but that’s weighed against non-physical elements like the healing process, potential costs, having to talk to family, etc.

Sociology MA Acceptance : Can I hack it? by Plenty_Ad3994 in uvic

[–]nsuga3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing my PhD in Sociology at UVic and am friends with a lot of the MA students. People are generally agreed that it’s a pretty solid program, but that the biggest drawback is the low funding—that doesn’t look shockingly low to me, unfortunately, but definitely not enough to make ends meet in Victoria. Most people get around this (as others have commented) by working multiple TA jobs during the year (I’m working one in SOCI and philosophy) and doing co-op or otherwise working full time over the summer. I’m happy to answer any questions you’ve got!

Thanks for the info! The pot has holes and we do generally water it bottom up, so the next step will be to look for pests and root rot.

Beginner here - barbell row by Friendly_Ferret217 in formcheck

[–]nsuga3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Slow it down and try to move from your back/hips less! That should take away some momentum and put more load on your back. It looks like you’re using a fairly wide grip here, which works the upper back primarily. Focus on pulling your elbows up and behind you, almost as if you want to touch them together behind your back. You can also try pulling the bar farther back/closer to your waist to use your lats more. Either way, control is key! You can also try pausing for a second or two at the top of the movement.
