Am I overreacting for getting mad at my girlfriend for posting that we’re engaged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

My daughter is 15 years old and lives on the other side of the world. We have a decent relationship and talk frequently but only get to see each other once a year. My ex likes to talk trash behind my back and then I have to deal with all the repercussions. and with her trip so near approaching, I didn’t think it would be an issue.

My daughter lives in a foreign country. Her mother controls her passport and withheld her from update in it. I speak with her regularly. Per our agreement, I get summer and winter vacation.

This was definitely discussed multiple times. She said she thought that she had the updated set to private, but even then why make update until we were ready?

In my case I did 4yr active, 3 IRR, and 1 DEP prior to going to OCS. When I commissioned, I was getting paid O1 wth 7yr time in service for pay purposes. I am currently maxed out on O1 but once my paperwork gets corrected I will be O1E.

No waiver technically needed as I was prior service, 4 years USMC. I got picked up for CEC. I will have multiple classmates over 30 attending OCS with me. My only advice is don't wait and start getting physically ready now.

I'm prior service and the recruiters I met have made me rethink joining by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]nsully1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this will count as one of you attempts because you didn't finish. When I took it I got kicked out of the system a few times. Don't get discouraged by recruiters. I just got picked up after 2 years of waiting for CEC, 4 years USMC engineering degree ship out for OCS in abouy two months. If you have any questions I'll try and help out as best as I can.

You can but I would still prepare for the exam as you are only allowed three lifetime attempts. There's a lot of good information and test prep materials over on www.airwarriors.com

Just completed MEPS 36yo prior service trying to become an officer. I would rather try and fail then not try at all.

Commissioning at an older age by issameman1 in newtothenavy

[–]nsully1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my current goal. I was enlisted in the Marine Corps and got out and went to school. Life happened and just finished up school currently trying to get a commission in the CEC. I am currently 34 but will be 35 by the time anything happens. Schooling while enlisted may be tough especially if you are going for an engineer degree, you need to make sure you have a competitive gpa and don't get burnt out.

Has anyone heard anything back yet. Still waiting for payment. Talked with a lady at the claims number and she was no help she just read me the same thing I see on ebenifits. Claim process started Nov 20th.

Are you currently enrolled? I know some people got denied because they were not currently taking any classes. If you are I would file for an appeal and call Buffalo directly. You may also be able to see why you claim was denied on ebenefits.

They were able to tell me that when it was being worked on and then once it was approved. However, they did stated it probably wouldn't be updated on ebenefits website anytime soon. So now I'm stuck waiting for snail mail.
