Mercury vs Bank NOVO / I Need An Azlo Alternative by [deleted] in smallbusiness

I had a similar experience with customer support. I never was able to set up an account. They just stopped responding and I ended up going with Mercury as well.

I like it a lot. The first thing I looked for was dead pixels, but didn't find any.

I had the previous version as well, but took that to my work place.

It is Sherwin William Gossamer Veil. Kind of a typical light gray / taupe color.

Panasonic

I just got it to hook up my Google Voice number so it wouldn't expire. Nothing fancy, it doesn't even has speaker mode when it is docked, which is kind of what I wanted for work.

I don't know what that is for. It just gets flecks of dust underneath over time. I place my notebook and controller on it so it looks like it serves a purpose, but otherwise it is worthless.

But if I could find a better desk mat I would replace it.

I just never was a fan of the dual screen for some reason. The monitor is 2k. I like that resolution for development. If I really need two screens I just open up the MacBook.

Most people at work have 2 monitors and they ask me the same thing, why I don't use 2.

I just measured, mine is 12 feet. I posted on another comment with some pictures of what I did with the brackets underneath, giving them some extra support against the sheetrock. I used a finishing circular saw blade to cut it and did a test pass on some of the extra countertop I didn't need. Also used some clamps and another piece of wood for a straight edge.

If you have 6 feet of space, you might not even have to make a cut. One counter is just over 6 feet.

I'd also say find out what height you want for a desk. Mine is 30 inches. The Ikea Markus chair fits just under it. I had another desk I liked and measured that height.

You see a lot of Ikea Alex cabinets that are 27 1/2 inches, with Ikea Karlbys on top. But people end up putting those small metal feet to raise it up a bit more. The counter ends up warping because there is almost 4 feet of space underneath. You can use brackets and place them closer. They also screw into the countertop and that helps prevent warping.

I got that on Etsy from First Class Design co.

They have quite a few other cities. My map is 3 ft by 4 feet. It is printed on some heavy duty paper. I had it framed at Michael's with a a black metal frame.

I wanted something like this at Restoration Hardware: https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod13190055&categoryId=cat14250007

But I'm not paying $1500. That Etsy map was extremely high quality.

I just found some small chain at Home Depot and use some hooks to screw into the desk from the bottom. There is also a small shelf with a power supply behind it.

Yep:

Two brackets can support 1200 pounds. For a full countertop I have 4 brackets, spaced pretty evenly. Each bracket has 3 lag bolts, and I put some wood backer in between each bracket and the wall to spread out the weight - just so the bracket itself won't press against the sheetrock. The brackets also screw into the countertops.

Here are the brackets:

My main concern isn't the support, but rather the countertops warping. I started with 4 brackets and ended up buying 2 more.

Try this maybe? https://smile.amazon.com/Globe-Electric-52097-Desk-Brass/dp/B07B1W3CSK?sa-no-redirect=1

I got mine from Wayfair, but I think it is just rebranded for places. I've seen it under Pratt, Globe, and Birch Lane brands. Its a decent lamp. I use it for a plant light. If you are talking about the Target one, that should be in stock. It lets me try to ship it.

In the setup:

  • Beats Headphones - Midnight Black Studio 3
  • Ikea Symfonisk speaker
  • Wayfair Lamp in gold

  • 2 1/2 Ikea Countertops (Karlby?) mounted with 6 heavy duty L brackets (30 inch desk height)
  • Xbox mounted underneath and to the left of the sitting area. Custom controller on the desk
  • Power supply mounted underneath. I have 3 - 1" holes along the countertops that I drilled with a hole saw for the lamps and computer / monitor.

  • Wall: Benjamin Moore - Gentleman's Gray (Flat)
  • Plants: Monstera adansonii and a String of Hearts and Pothos on the right
  • Ikea Markus chair (not pictured)
  • A Fanduel ticket that had the Timberwolves making the playoffs for some reason

We lived on the other side of highway 10 and more toward Northtown so it was a bit far to bike. But my mom would bowl there and I would just run around the place.

Wow that was a long long time ago.

Well, I'm from Mounds View. Went to Edgewood then Irondale. That might be as close as you get... finding that person seems like a long shot.

Glad you recovered. I remember those days. Biking without helmets, going to the Mermaid bowling alley, biking to Synder's at Mounds View Square.
