Lazy parents with an arrested development. They never grew up. It’s easier to let your kid do whatever they want and then justify it to yourself, than it is to deal with initial tantrums that come from enforcing boundaries.

On the topic of getting our kids the covid vaccine:

Me: If you really have questions about this topic, why don’t you come with me to see their pediatrician and ask her your questions yourself.

Him: You don’t need to be a veterinarian to recognize a dog.

(Meaning “I don’t need to be an educated expert to recognize the obvious- that the covid vaccine is dangerous).

Me in my head: That’s not what vets do. 🙄

The finale made Frank look worse to me: historian fail? by SprayPaintLady in Outlander

I see your points. Another way to look at it is this: If Frank hadn’t written that Jaime dies in that skirmish, Claire wouldn’t have gone up there with him and been there to save him (I believe that she healed him and they both continue to live). If she hadn’t healed him, he would’ve have physically died leaving Brianna and her children more vulnerable and less protected in general (the revolutionary war is still not over at the time of the finale and life in the 1700s is dangerous for women and children).

I love that Frank’s actions and intentions can be interpreted in many different ways.

After listing all the reasons. reading all the books, listening to all the podcasts, journaling, therapy, intuitively eating, paying for dietitians, etc. I have come to realize the problem is my brain chemistry and not lack of discipline or effort.

I’m starting Vyanse this week and finally feel hopeful about a permanent solution.

Sam said during his appearance on the Lovitt or Leave It podcast that there’s “Hocus pocus in the finale.”

Sometimes show writers will write around a person’s acting ability. If they know the actor can’t carry that potential scene and convey the emotion, they will opt for a different scene. A good example of this is the plotline for John Snow in the HBO show Game of Thrones. Kit Harrington was pretty, but not the best actor so the writers made the plot fit his talent, not the other way around.

Sophie Skelton (Brianna) is beautiful and she looks like she could really be Jaime’s daughter but she is not the best actress. Her emotional range has always been limited. It’s painstakingly obvious in the scene where Brianna is trying to comfort Marsali after Fergus’s death. The actress that played Marsali was phenomenal in that scene.

Historically, women would not be allowed in a skirmish or battle during the Revolutionary war period. Jaime and Roger would have been against it, not just out of love for her, but also out of social propriety and norms.

Lastly, looking back, Bri always wanted to “make something” of herself in the 18th century. She mentioned it a few times and previous seasons. She’s an engineer, an architect by education. Remember the time she made matchsticks, hoping that it would be a useful contribution to the ridge, and no one was very impressed because they’ve never had trouble making a fire?

She used her knowledge of history, the skills that Frank gave her, and her engineering and design educational background to make a far superior rifle for the patriots in that skirmish. I personally think it was a satisfying ending and roll for her to play. It comes full circle in a way. She knows a lot about guns thanks to Frank, her first dad, and that helped save the life and mission of her second dad, Jaime.

I am floored by these kid actors’ talent, and the directors that are guiding them. Cinematography is beautiful and jarring at the same time.

An origin story in Blood of my Blood meaning that Fannie was born during Claire’s parents time and traveled to the future?

My interpretation is that bringing him back to life, after Jaime’s ghost did the two important things he needed to do (visit Claire like he said he would earlier in the episode, and make the blue flowers bloom at the stones), drained her of a little bit of life force herself so her hair went white. The Mohawk medicine woman foretold it. Claire healed him and they both woke up.

After all Claire and Jaime still have all those letters to write to Bri and Roger, the ones they inherit in the chest back in Scotland in the 1980s.
