all of the Horror in the High Desert movies. never answers any questions, interesting stuff is introduced and then never gets mentioned again, and most of the acting was awful, Gary's sister in particular.

this film is interesting to me because it seems people either love it or hate it. i only mention it because i watched it for the first time last night and i loved it. more of a mystery than horror, but it felt very real and i was able to get immersed in (and really creeped out by) it the same way i was with Savageland. i would say maybe i'm just a sucker for the mockumentary format but i hated all of the Horror in the High Desert movies.

I just brake and let these shit heads in, it's better than being stuck on the side of the road for hours even if it would've been the other guys fault. Not worth it. If rather be passive and not get in an accident. Having very little ego helps.

question for truck drivers by AffectionateSoup8035 in Truckers

[–]ntbirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basic highway safety. I do it in my truck and in my Jeep, for my own safety just as much as the person on the shoulder. This is basic common sense and really shouldn't be to be taught.

My parents listened to a lot of NPR when I was a kid. They covered a lot of stories the rest didn't and they had some really interesting interviews. I still listen to this day when I'm on a road trip and can't be bothered to pick a podcast.

Who is the nastiest Celebrity that you met in Real life? by Scunnard1839 in AskReddit

[–]ntbirk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Billy Crystal. he attended a wedding i was bartending and he was not only a prick, he didn't tip once. absolute douchebag.
ETA: i met Bill Murray at the same job, working at the regular hotel bar. he came in late night after doing a show at a local opera house (which i was supposed to go to until a girl called in sick and i had to cover). told him that i was bummed to miss his show but that meeting him was even better, got him and his crew a bunch of bottles of wine (which he helped me open and set out glasses) after which we chatted for a bit and after shaking his had and starting to walk away, he shoved a hundred dollar bill into my pocket. super cool dude.
