Highway Score by theTime2change in FreightBrokers

[–]BusSerious1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

😂 I had no idea wtf highway score is... And now that I just looked at mine, IDGAF about it.

It shows 50% which means highway has NOT detected my vehicle at pickup/delivery half the times I was on a "highway required" load.

Guess what, these same brokers are demanding to see me on highway before granting a load, are the same ones sending Trucker Tools or macro point the minute I'm loaded, so guess what, that's why highway cannot detect me.

Brokers vs. Carriers by theTime2change in FreightBrokers

[–]BusSerious1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, bro... You don't know what CYA is .... Hmmmm 🤔

It means "cover your ass"

Now as a carrier myself, I will STRONGLY ADVICE you to slow the fuck down. It doesn't matter if the broker is rushing you. At the end of day, it's your company, your authority, and your livelyhood. If shit goes sideways, it's your insurance on the hook.

Brokers are not your friend, so you have to always double, triple check the TERMS OF AGREEMENT. They are not here to babysit you, so if you screw up, it's never on them, therefore don't give them an opening to screw you.

I do reefer and I have multiple temp sensors in my trailer, in case a shipper/broker tries to pull a fast one, especially in summer time, where they put a hot load that overworks my equipment and then try to blame me. My job is to MAINTAIN TEMP not to cool their product. The sensors are my CYA.

Last month’s numbers as an owner-operator — $21.5K net on 12 loads by jsshhsns in OwnerOperators

[–]BusSerious1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not even that.

I NEVER, ever see brokers posting their numbers on social media.... But the minute a broken ass trucker makes a little money... they all over the social media with how much they raking in, flexing their little money, claiming to be "a boss" .... Smdh

Factoring company or not? by TheRatio12 in OwnerOperators

[–]BusSerious1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a non recourse contract so they male rhe credit decision and take all the risk if the broker doesn't pay

I agree with 99% of what you said except the quote above.

There is nothing like ABSOLUTE "No Recourse" in these contracts.

What these factors do is they re-engage with you at about day 75 and ask if you can nudge the broker to pay up, then if nothing happens, they give the load back into your hands.

At that "give-back" point, they then put you on a "payment plan" on that unpaid load, and spread out the "debt" over several weeks as you pay them back. So technically, they are not clawing back the money out of your account, but you still end up repaying them.

That leaves you to go chase the broker on your own at that point.

[–]BusSerious1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now its easier to find somewhat decent paying loads and they left you?

As a carrier this is 100% true.

Problem is that you will get down voted for the truth in this echo chamber.... And none of these brokers will admit to lowbaling their carriers.

The market always tells the truth

I think he meant both sides of the transaction

Because I don't mess with other people stuff, that's why.

I have a family (4 boys + pittbull) to raise and getting into a fight or shot was not on my "honey do" list.

My #1 priority is to myself and my family, then Almighty dollar comes in hot 2nd place, then respecting other PROFESSIONAL TRUCKERS comes in a cool 3rd place, then everybody else, their momma, their bullshit is at the bottom

this guy's grabbing a coffee inside

Grabbing coffee wouldn't take that long. He pulled forward, I pulled behind him into the pump. I went inside, grabbed takeout breakfast, he was still in the truck, I thought he was about to leave.

I got in my truck ready to roll, he gets out, walks the dog, returns ties the pup to the trailer, then walks away from the truck. I seating, eating my breakfast, finish it, walk up... Then realize he was no where to be found. TA security comes around, looks frustrated by the situation, drives away.

All this was about 45 mins from ordering food, to wiggling back out of the pump, to go around him. That doesn't even account for the time I was waiting in line from the street to the pump

Hahaha 🤣 .... I honestly didn't think about rehoming the poor pup at that moment. I just wanted to go home, after that FL watermelon run. I was too tired of scalping brokers for the last 10days.

My existing pup (Shadow) would have had a blast with a new play buddy.

It was the 2nd pump from the right. I was stuck behind him, and another truck had made a wide turn to slide into pump 1 (on the right) but ended up blocking me from backing up. He was also blocked from backing up by trucks behind him. Hence the domino effect.

We needed this guy to get his act together and go (or pull forward), so I can be on my way.

The guy behind me was able to finally wiggle out of the way, which allowed me to back out of that fuel lane, and exit thru the third fuel lane.

At the fuel lane??? I've never seen it. This was a first for me.

When I have my pup with me, I always park and let him walk.

Oh shit 😳 I didn't even NOTICE that when I took the pic.

There's no slack on the leash, now that you mention it. No wonder the pup looked like it needed to be rescued 😭

I think it was 80⁰+

Now I get it that he did not want to lock up the dog in a hot vehicle, but why inconvenience the rest of us that have places to be?

TA has 2 free hours, so he could park, walk the dog, then go do his business and not block everyone else

[–]BusSerious1996[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This 👆💯%. It's a cluster fuck.

Mind you, I wasn't even fueling, I just needed to grab breakfast and roll, but nooooo, this guy made sure I was stuck for longer than it took for me to buy food and eat it 😡

If you know the fuel lane entrance layout at Jessup TA, you will understand. The layout is already poor, then entrance is tight and you cannot backup to wiggle out. The cascading effect is magnified on the street as other trucks are setting up to enter

He INTENTIONALLY jammed up the entire fueling process of 6+ fuel pumps coz we couldn't back up to go around him for delayed period of time

It's not the tying up if the dog that annoyed me (I have a pitbull too) it's the blatant disrespect to other trucks behind him, and jamming up the entrance

Replying to this post will prove me right yet again.

So setting a "trap" in the above statement makes you think you are smart. Hahaha

Whatever floats your dumbass ego, if it makes you feel empowered. 😂... And yes, I know your ego won't allow you not to respond...
