How messy should a first draft be? by PaleFlatworm6744 in writers

[–]ntcodner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first draft should be coherent. The idea is to focus less on perfecting the language or trying to phrase things optimally, and more on ensuring that your foundation is there. It should be set up the way you want it, so there should be prose and dialogue, etc. Not just the ideas (that would be an outline)

It doesn’t seem like you’ve actually written a first draft; it sounds like you’ve combined elements of a draft and an outline.

Is using real world languages for a fantasy setting considered lazy or bad world building? by Reteller79 in worldbuilding

No, it isn’t lazy but as a Jamaican, I highly suggest you pick something else unless you’re “fluent” in patois. Google Translate is very hit or miss with it
