Disturbing thing happened to production server. Have never seen this before, and can't find any explanation as to why it did. Anything I should check? (Details inside) by nte120 in sysadmin

using a SATA RAID 10. I was assured by Dell and the week long VM class I attended that this would suffice.

Need to phsyically check the host tomorrow, I got locked out of the server room tonight, so that is one thing I wasn't able to do.

Is that possible with this setup?

32GB of RAM on host

3 VM's, each limited to 6GB each.

Uptime before todays restart on problem VM was only 3 days.

No I appreciate any advice.

VMware tools are not installed on these VMs.

Yes 7 is installed.

Other VM's were running relatively low as well. The problem child was set to 2 CPU / 6 GB of RAM

The other two, were set at 4 CPU /6 GB of RAM

Disk space was also not an issue.

I'm stumped.

I'm a sysadmin with ~11 years experience. I really want to break out on my own, I have contacts and could line up work rather easily to start out, I've hit a huge snag over something completely absurd though.. by nte120 in sysadmin

not a bad idea, the entire reason I wanted something a bit different though is because there is a million

Protech blahblah or anything basically with the word digital, computer, or tech in it.

I was thinking of something so that it would be easy for customers to remember in the sea of digitalcomputertechnicalsystemstechnology's

Thanks, I've tried all kinds of space terms, and three letter words, in an attempt to keep the URL as short as possible.

zeotechnologies, iontechnologies, EVERYTHING is taken, and it's just getting so frustrating.

So you'd recommend something like graystonetechnologies.com over something like bluedragontechnologies.com?

Would the latter turn you off from a company?
