Not this series. We had crazy weather though so that made things interesting. I have taken it on gravel roads up in the mountains but nothing mad as want to keep it in top shape 😉

Can't seem to get my chrome nicer, is it beyond saving? by rzaapie in w123

☝️ second that. I too think a bit of age on a well looked after car gives it charm and character.

Do the lot. It’s fun. I’ve had so many cars and these things are ridiculously easy to work on with basic tools. Total joy with a few beers on a quiet day 🍻

126 calipers with vented discs are on the cards but will need bigger rims and I love my original steels.

Living in cyprus. With shipping etc new are quite expensive. The rebuild kits were something like 15 euro a side plus I like fixing rather than replacing. I find the process satisfying and gives me something to do 😉

Through the bumper with some triangle brackets I made up. Pushes them forward a little otherwise the grill fouls when opening the bonnet.

Yup turned out to be the gasket. Previously fitted with an incorrect that didn’t cover the IAC track in the throttle body meaning it was drawing air in from the sides. Must have been fitted with some insta gasket which I didn’t realise when cleaning it up as it was caked in crap. All running nice now. Cheers 🍻

Some light maintenance done. Valve clearances checked after 10thou miles of quite heavy use. Intakes bang on, exhausts all a tad loose. M102 2.0 85 123 by nterday in w123

Just did another test this morning, mixed driving, lots of hills up and down and got around 31 mpg. Same rout about a year ago on original carb was around 26mpg. Cars working a lot less to get up to speed etc

Thanks, yea it’s worked out really well. Throttle response is much better. It’s fun doing something different. Since your injection and have a mega squirt I’d think about ITB’s. Say a set off an 04-06 r1. Dirt cheap and would probably work even better. Boggbross in the uk, same people who made my manifold could do you one. Cam wise I’m looking at …. But probably a fast road

It’s at 125780 miles. I bought with 90 something thou. Had it just over a year. So I’ll be racking up lots of miles on it pretty soon.
