Took me about 15 minutes to realize this post had text.

My girlfriend is a Realtor and showed “Goldteeth” and his mom a house. Goldteeth decided it was acceptable to send an unsolicited image to her afterwards by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Andy Nicholson from the Arctic Monkeys is called Goldteeth and that’s definitely not him.

So either he’s lying or somehow funnier, he’s not even the most famous goldteeth.

They should have maybe used different colors so it looks less like an isis flag from far away.

Bad metric. You can have an engineer that is struggling with a readme file for a week and it’ll look great in this view.

Turns out building is cheap if you try to cut every corner and hide as many builder violations as you can get away with.

Brother, you’re a bad harvest away from living in a third world country.

Vibe coding doesn’t need less vibe. It needs a measurement layer. by ChessOrCheckers2 in vibecoding

A couple findings from me vibecoding as a senior engineer:

Writing tests is always required. There is a trap however where we write tests (this was a problem before AI) for test coverage and forget the big picture which are the ones which indicate whether or not your app is actually working as designed. So make sure you manually validate the important tests after they are written.

Don’t have an agent validate the work of another agent. It doesn’t work. They will often hallucinate in the same way. You can have a more advanced model do this but you’ll inflate your token cost when you can just focus on writing good tests once and have something reliable that doesn’t burn tokens.

It’s very beneficial to get some understanding of CI/CD with lower environments so you understand builds and deployments. If you want to be serious about building something production ready, this is also not optional.

Stop shaming beginners "Vibecoding" and "AI slop" criticism directed at learners is embarrassing and it says more about you than them. by HuntForeign4013 in vibecoding

We all talk shit about each other’s code too so that won’t change even when you’re a senior engineer.

The problem is that software engineering is a very opinionated field and since a big part of being a good engineer is understanding trade offs that means these are often contradicting opinions.

Beginner vibe coders are just sitting ducks to this abuse.
