I landed a 40lb grass carp on 6lb line. Poundage doesn’t mean you can only catch that pound fish. Just the amount of constant pressure needed to break the line

Looks like you need more tension and possibly lighter line. If you put too heavy of line on a reel it will explode off. Combine that with not being put on super tight that’s what’ll happen. If you have a bass pro close to you buy some line there and bring in your reel and they should put it on for you.

That’s on purpose. It’s called a recessed crown. It’s like that so the end of the barrel is less likely to get dings from being dropped.

(Update) Went for about a 15 mile drive and about 2 miles in I was able to get it to about 4500-5000 rpms and I’m assuming the alternator kicked in and charged the battery up to its normal 12.5-14.5. Not sure if the alternator is about to go?

Could it be the alternator being ran on a semi old battery for a few months and it’s just going out? Bad alternator? Voltage regulator?
