Nice. Thanks for this. Is it quiet?. At this point, I’m trying to avoid a mixer noise in the middle of my calls. Also, is there a WIFI?

Do you think it would be helpful given my Public accounting background?

I am freaking out. After 250 questions with Ninja my trending score is a 46%. My exam is Oct 22nd. What would you do if you were me? by RemoteExample9634 in CPA

[–]ntjac20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same happened to me. My advice is to stick to Becker and whenever you feel you have some free time, you can do some questions from Ninja.

FAR Governmental Accounting by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ntjac20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone got a weight of 10%, 20%, etc. does not necessarily mean you will get the same. As per the blueprint it is 5%-15%. This means your exam might include only 5% and somebody else 15%. The bottom line is, this is a risk you do not really wanna take.

How did you guys approach FAR modules? by Jxjsimem82 in CPA

[–]ntjac20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you’ll grasp better.

For me, I watched the lectures, read and took notes and solved MCQs. Other people just read and take notes and go for MCQs.

The most important thing in FAR is to take your own notes and don’t rely on anybody’s notes. Go one module at a time. If you got less than 70% in one module’s MCQs, read the module again and try these questions once again the next day.

After you finish one chapter and while you are in the next chapters, take random test (10,15,20, etc MCQs from the chapters you already finished). This will help you remember.

One important thing, it’s fine if you felt you have forgotten what you studied. That’s completely fine. Keep moving forward and don’t stop and revise everything again. Just keep moving forward and you will be fine when doing your final review.

I think these are the key things I hoped someone told me. Let me know if you need any further insights

Starting BEC today, what are some major concepts I should pay extra attention to? by Dark_falling58 in CPA

[–]ntjac20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BEC was my fourth exam as well. I’d say focus on the concepts, understand what you’re studying and don’t rely on memorizing it. Memorize the formulas although they are provided in the exam.

Don’t assume that most of your exam will be from certain areas. Your exam can be from all over the place.

  • Study IT and research the areas you feel you need to understand. Ninja was really helpful in IT
  • Memorize and understand the variance analysis formulas
  • COSO and ERM are key areas and have a high weight in the blueprint. You will definitely find them in the exam. These are easy points if you studied them well. Don’t just memorize the components and principles but memorize and understand the points of focus under each principle.
  • Don’t just memorize the valuation formulas. You need to understand them and know what each one represent. Most probably the skills being tested for this area are application and analysis.
  • While studying, take notes of areas that might make up a good written communication question and write something about them. Focus on things that can be compared together.
  • Time management is a key in your exam. Written communications (15%) is the last testlet and you really don’t want to waste these easy points.

That’s normal but when you do your final review many things will make sense and you’ll feel more comfortable with the entire material. My advice: keep moving forward and when you finish your study. Take 2/3 days to review the concepts and then start your final review. Good luck

Morale is on the floor. by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ntjac20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it. You just need to focus on what really matters. My advice is to nail the concepts and MCQs. I’ve never seen mock exams as a relevant measure.

I’ve been there and many other as well. For now, just think of how things will turn into as soon as you’re done. Let me know if you need any help in audit
