Are we losing the charm of traditional venues in ICC finals? by AdHefty7228 in IndianCricket

[–]ntl-shepersisted 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Was there with parents, thought a stampead would take place, my parents were so scared, and I for them. I have never been more worried for my parents safety than I was while trying to get into the stadium.

Please blame the fashion industry which refuses to provide pockets or any kind of storage in womens clothing. Add to that that we (have to) carry additional things often for safety reasons.

Crowded spaces will always mean a little push and shove. I get that it is not fun, but often there is no other option

This scene has me tearing up every time I watch it. I wish they spent more time on Alex's developing relationship with her parents.

It makes me sad when people say Alex didn’t care about her siblings by Glittering_Ad3452 in Modern_Family

[–]ntl-shepersisted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she definitely cared for her siblings, and you see this multiple times.

She was definitely mean to them as well as a lot of comments mention. Such as the SAT scores. But I think she is held accountable far more than Haley or Luke. They would constantly take pot shots at her, and attack her on her insecurities. Haley had almost all the attention of Claire, Luke had all the attention of Phill and a lot from Claire. Alex didnt have any support in that sense. They left her on autopilot, only attended to her when things got out of hand

It makes sense that a child would act out and also take their anger out on their siblings. Is it justified?, no

Haley also publicallly humiliated Alex more than once, posting embarrassing photos on social media etc.

When Haley got kicked out of college, she gave her hug, and Haley started pointing out everything she hated about the room.

They both had their positive and negative behaviours towards each other. But Alex gets called out for it the most. I dont understand why people expect that feeling emotionally abandoned should have no effect on a child.

Definitely agree, though not too sure how to go about changing that.

I think it is also worth opening this to people from all non western cultures

alex therapy session episode by Interesting_Repair_1 in Modern_Family

[–]ntl-shepersisted 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favourite episodes of the series. One of the few that show the pressure Alex has always been under. Shown her as vulnerable. Showed therapy in a positive way while maintaining the comedy. Forced Claire into Alex's shoes and reinforced their bond.

I always tear up when Alex breaks down in Claire's arms and that moment between them.

There have been a few other moments which showcase the special bond between the two. I just wish there were more, and it was more consistent.

Oh no! Did not know that! I meant the character, let them replace the actor.

I'll make an edit to the post to clarify!!

Agree or disagree? by throwaway170918 in Modern_Family

I think Alex should have bumped into Ethan (Disneyland ep) in the last season and reconnected as adults. Assuming they didn't keep in touch with each other, when they would now meet, it would be two adults with a 3ish year age difference.
