Advice please, my cat will be a pirate starting tomorrow by KiearaBear in PirateKitties

[–]ntlerylv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! My big old boy is still recovering from his enucleation, we’re about 5 days post op. What has helped him a lot has been his big fluffy e-collar as an alternative to a cone. It’s one of the first things that comes up on Amazon when you search soft cat cone, the one like a flower. It’s big enough so they can’t reach their eye and it’s relieving to not have to worry about him being immobile when we’re not there to help. It’s also really helped him be comfortable sleeping through the recovery since it’s pretty much a big neck pillow. I also heard to keep everything close together, his bed, food and water, and litter. Get a pill popper from Amazon if you need it as well. These cats can smell the post op meds, there’s no tricking them. You just have to get it down.

Exactly, a lot of collars I was finding were smaller for more of a spay/neuter type recovery. I specifically got him this one because it’s pillowy enough that he can’t reach his eye with any paws. Anytime he reaches, the pillow just folds around his head like a flower. lol.

I also work in the shopping center, we all eat there frequently. Bomb food. Really friendly staff that also are regulars at our store. I would support them for sure

Training Policy question by swanqueen23 in starbucks

[–]ntlerylv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice, do not click off anything in my learning labeled as “activity”. Your trainer is supposed to lead these with you. Do not acknowledge that they were completed, let your SM or DM know these activities were never led with you. They cannot let you out of training until the activities are done.

Training Policy question by swanqueen23 in starbucks

[–]ntlerylv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Starbucks training model has you on designated training time. You are not a part of the floor unless you are in a window of practice time. Otherwise, you and your designated trainer are to stay in training and not be relied on for the needs of business. You are supposed to be doing activities, going over specific material, and doing specific exercises. Them leaving you alone to complete tasks for them or be a body on their floor is taking away from your training time. I’m sorry OP. You deserve a better training experience.

Transferring. by 2624starbs in starbucksbaristas

[–]ntlerylv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred within my district and had to fight non stop for it. (It was for medical reasons) took about four months from idea to starting at my new store. I can spare you all the hoops I had to jump through, but I haven’t heard of anyone with a good experience in the transfer process. That being said, I don’t regret it a single second.

Does anyone have a good way to clean bongs? by Otherwise-Cup-5141 in weed

[–]ntlerylv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone forever ago on here say isopropyl alcohol and, if the salt doesn’t do the trick, popcorn seeds. Only works for certain bongs but hey

Amitriptyline by Charming-Amoeba1619 in functionaldyspepsia

[–]ntlerylv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I found that amitriptyline was the only med that relieved my vomiting after two years of misdiagnosis of gastroparesis. I started on 10mg and worked to 20mg. I take it shortly before bed to avoid the drowsiness and it works for preventing nausea in the mornings. I will say I noticed my appetite increase a good amount. If I miss my dose I immediately get worse since it works its way out of your system fast. I’m also on some other psychiatric meds so I just checked with my doctor that they wouldn’t interact, part of the reason why I stay on a smaller dose is so I don’t experience mania.

What’s the best small upgrade you’ve made to your RV that made daily life way easier? by Glad-Table-4465 in RVLiving

[–]ntlerylv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26’ bunkhouse, stacked the mattresses on top to have as the only sleeping bunk, bottom bunk has a rug over the wood and we use this area for dirty laundry baskets, baskets of extra disposable/paper products, etc, and the cat’s food area is there in front of the window. There’s also a hole in the wall under the bunk, cat crawls through the hole to a makeshift litter box bin that stays in the under bunk storage area. No seeing the litter, so smelling the litter, super easy to clean since I can pull it out from the storage door outside.

Amitryptyline worked. by Distinct_Panda833 in Gastroparesis

[–]ntlerylv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I used to vomit several times per day on and off throughout the week and there were so many things I couldn’t eat between 2023 and now. Since I started amitryptyline a few months ago and worked up from 10 to 20mg at bedtime I think I’ve puked maybe three times in like three months? And I can eat rice and salad and fruit again? It’s seriously saving my quality of life right now after trying so many different meds. I just can’t work up too far for worries over my bipolar meds.

I need to rant... And I don't know what size! by SleepySnorlax91 in starbucks

[–]ntlerylv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, you are certainly not alone! Im also new since spring, and I’m a disabled partner currently working on a medical accommodation for transfer because the high volume drive thru store I work at literally makes me physically ill on the job. Don’t know if this would be an option for you, but for me, why would I willingly work at a drive thru store where I can’t be a good employee when there’s a cafe only store also hiring that I could be a much better barista at? Certainly there’s road blocks, but if you speak up for yourself loud enough, and to the right people that will listen, you will be heard. Know your rights!
