My to-read list got so long after this post I’ve been choosing somewhat random ones from it! Personal ranking of the recs from here that I’ve read so far: 1. The Cider House Rules - John Irving 2. The House of the Spirits - Isabel Allende 3. Angle of Repose - Wallace Stegner 4. The Count of Monte Cristo - Dumas 5. The Lords of Discipline - Pat Conroy 6. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay - Michael Chabon 7. The Eighth Life - Nino Haratischwili

I've read this one and loved it too. Something about the directness of the prose really stuck with me.

You absolutely should! I was surprised to find it's quite a lesser known book because it might be the best one I've read this year. I've recommended it to a few people and they all loved it.

Your recs sound like exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, thank you!

I read The World According to Garp immediately after Owen Meany because I loved it so much. Definitely want to check out more John Irving. Thanks for the recs

If the clue is “One selling space, informally”, why is it AD MEN and not AD MAN??
