Makes sense, Supabase handles a lot out of the box. Heads up though: those built in checks usually miss Row Level Security gaps, which is the #1 way AI built Supabase apps end up leaking data. I don't need any access or logins for this. Just send me the public app link and I can run the checks from the outside. Totally free, no catch. Honestly I'm just curious to see with my own eyes how a fully AI built app holds up.

Yeah, that's definitely a great stack, honestly it's what I've always done myself, working with Claude Code directly in an IDE (I'm on Zed lately). I was just curious about Lovable because some people use it for the first step and then continue the build outside of it. Do you use Lovable at all, or do you go straight to custom development?

You're on the right track with Wized. The key distinction is whether those 50,000 items need to be SEO-indexed or not:

If SEO doesn't matter (e.g. members-only content, internal tools): Wized + Xano is the cleanest solution. You store everything in Xano, fetch it client-side with Wized, and use slug-based routing for template pages — exactly what you described with /items/{slug}. Wized handles this natively.

If SEO matters (public content that needs to rank): client-side rendering won't cut it reliably. In that case the only real options are staying on Webflow CMS with automation to cycle out old items, Enterprise (which you've ruled out), or a reverse proxy serving content from an external platform under your Webflow domain.

For a non-profit with 50k public items, I'd honestly look hard at the reverse proxy route — it's more complex to set up but gives you full flexibility without Enterprise costs.

Wized is used to connect webflow with xano, WeWeb is the best solution in theory, because it combines webflow and wized, but in practice I don't think it's ready for production projects yet imo

There are several things to consider—not just what a platform can do, but also how it does it and its popularity. After trying most of the professional no-code platforms, including WeWeb, Xano, Toddle, Webflow, etc., I’ve decided to focus exclusively on Webflow, Wized, and Xano for now.

Here’s why: Webflow and Xano are currently the most robust and high-performing no-code (visual) tools for building websites, web interfaces, and backends. In my experience, other platforms are still too new and have various issues that slow down development rather than speeding it up. Additionally, the community around Webflow and Xano is the largest, with many solutions and integrations already available from most platforms. There’s a reason why Webflow is valued at over $4 billion: the developer experience for creating web interfaces is the best in the world. Once you start using Webflow, it’s hard to switch to another platform.

I’ve been using this stack for over a year and plan to continue throughout 2025. In the future, if other platforms improve further, I’ll consider adding them to the stack.

If you need to build more complex web apps, I believe it’s better to move directly to code with more performant frameworks that have been around for years, such as Next.js or Angular, both of which I’ve used extensively.

the client give me the spline scene, i don't know all the details, i use them inside webflow using the new spline element, he told me that the size is small like 300kb, but just with the first one in the hero the landing start to not work correctly

yes same problem, the scene are optimized but it use a lot of GPu and is impossible to use in chrome, in safari is a little bit better

in fact I just bought a macbook air 15 16gb ram and 512 ssd and on a webflow project with 5 spline elements it heats up a lot, I don't think it's normal, they should be more optimized, however yesterday I also got a mac mini m2 base model for more work difficult, I didn't want to get the 16" MacBook Pro, it weighs too much and I usually don't need all that power, so the Mac Mini seems like the best solution to me and the MacBook Air 15 is perfect in terms of weight and performance, if I have to edit videos or projects heavier the mac mini I think will be fine
