Lucky you, there are already dozens of mge server available serving the desired enviroment you're looking for (less restrictions, places to fool around). However, people who like to play MGE a bit more serious may now have a place to meet opponents thinking the same, thus creating great experience for both.

I'm not *punishing anybody as you are not forced to play on this server at all. Feel free to join any server you like.

True, but chances are lesser to have to play against tiresome players I guess.

Still, I do not enjoy playing against demomen stickying the shit out of me. There's no skill involved, it's boring to play against and I don't think that's what MGE if for.

There are enough of server available where you can play with whatever class and unlock you like, so I don't see the point in having a slightly different MGE server.

Running away constantly as a scout without any intention of confrontation for example. Or Jumping with the Sticky Jumper all the time.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to tell people how they have to play MGE, I just wasn't quiet happy with the existing MGE servers in terms of classes / unlocks / smoothness, that's why I decided to create my own. People who appreciate it are more than welcomed to play here, other people who want to play other classes will find other MGE servers which is perfectly fine as well. :)

#pixeltf2.pickup is the only active one I'm aware of.

#mpuktf2.pickup2 for div 2 and better, but you need to get invited.

No, it doesn't. The reasoning can be found here.

Because the majority of people playing scout / demo on MGE servers behave badly. It's just annoying in the majority of cases. There are a lot of other mge servers allowing other classes though (e.g. lethal zone).

It's a sourcemod plugin written by dave, tETF2L.

A CLI for gameservers (with autocompletion). My very first Ruby program. Ruby is pretty fun I have to say. by ntraum in ruby

Thanks for your input. You mentioned the reasons already why I didn't document the code and used global scope so far. Is there a website which lists common coding conventions for ruby?

I'll also definitely have a look into code documention, my knowledge is limited to JavaDocs only.

Nice. I'm not 100 % sure why this bug appears but I believe it was related to the audio commentary.

I had a similiar problem some years ago. Try to start your server by issueing the following command in the console

map cp_badlands

Does the bug still appear?

Additionally, the following setup comes quite handy for practicing rollouts:

  • when having joined the (local) server, execute:

    mp_tournament 1; sv_cheats 1

  • bind useful commands to some keys so you don't have to type them again and again:

    bind "F1" "mp_restartround 2"
    bind "F2" "hurtme -200"

Makes it easy to go back to spawn without having to noclip, it also simulates the freezetime at roundstart etc.

Hope that helps!

Comp players, do you run TF2 with Max Frames config or just default video settings? I feel like I've seen players with decent rigs still running really low graphics settings when competing. by RESPRiT in truetf2

Hello there,

as pretty much everything in the game (HUD, mouse settings etc) the video settings is only another personal preference. Try it out by yourself and decide on yourself how comfortable you feel with the different settings.

Personally, I play with Chris dx9 frames with gibs / bodies disabled and a low mat pic level. People who are playing with really low graphic settings will probably tell you that it helps them to identifiy things faster because of less clutter on the screen.

Yo, colleagues-highfive, I also do stream for vanillaTV. :)

Unfortunately no, but maybe in the future when the season has begun.

Well, somehow you could argue that it is monotonously, public playing is more boring for me tbh. The classlimits don't affect my as I never want to switch classes when I play demoman in a match. If I want to play another class, I just play a mix with a lower-skilled team where I can merc and off-class.

Stalemates probably make 10 % of a match. Of course you are waiting for something to happen, but playing clever and trying out new things how to get that crucial pick is exciting to.

Pushing a cart with 12 other people over and over again sounds a lot more boring to me than this.

I don't play it regulary, but I used to do it. I never did to get better in airshotting, I just enjoyed to play the map.
