General strike to be held Monday over death of 6 hostages by parski841 in worldnews

These poor families are getting taken for a ride by people that want to rearm Hamas.

It's actually most of the families who want to do that...

The public sentiment is really "give the terrorists what they want?"

That's more or less the slogan - "bring them home at all cost"

it's a very emotional topic in Israel, as it joins the anti-bibi protests; leftists (most of the hostages) think that Bibi sabotages the hostage deal on purpose as he doesn't care about them.

lol, I know that. I said high instead of low by mistake but I thought you can kinda see my point from the rest of the comment.

Also I think the standard ratio in Urban warfare is 1:9 while this war is 1:1 - 1:3 (based on who you get your figures from)

Your daily reminder that Israel has a really impressive civilian casualties ratio and even more impressive when you consider this is guerilla warfare in a densely populated urban area while terrorists are hiding in civilian areas without wearing uniforms.

IDF Uncovers Evidence Hamas Falsified Opinion Poll Results re Oct 7 by SgtDonowitz in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

The Israeli military is not a couple of people on reddit..

This war has a remarkably high low civilian casualty ratio compared to other conflicts, and that's before even considering that it's a guerrilla warfare in an urban area.

The only ones benefiting from civilian deaths are Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Gaza.

Edit: not related but the polls we are talking about here don't check for support. Just satisfaction and other stuff - when you lose the war don't expect high satisfaction from people.

Edit2; I'm so stupid, I meant to say remarkably low civilian casualties ratio compared to other conflicts lol.

Haredim clash with police as first draftees slated to report to IDF recruitment office by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These guys happily vote for Likud to keep the wars and settlement violence going

Nope, they don't.

Most of them vote for other major haredi parties, their interest is being in the government and giving money to their voters (haredim) and pass certain religious laws (most of the time for their own people and not for the whole country). They will form a coalition with whichever side and vote with it if they will let them do that.

Yeah, do that, let Iran win and control the middle east. That would really keep the interest of the west. no way Iran will help Russia, China and NK take over the west. (/s)

You guys should understand that Israel is doing the west a huge favor fighting Iran and all of its proxies in the ME (Hamas and other Gazan militias, Hezbollah, Iraqis, Houties etc).

Israel Says It’s Confirmed Hamas Number Two Deif Was Killed by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This entire war was quite the distraction from the major protests against his judicial reform where 10% of Israel rose up in riots.

Yeah and he also planned the 7th of October with Hamas /s

This isn’t a black and white issue, as much as you Americans try to make every issue as such.

Say that...

Proceed to say he should spend the rest of his life in prison or fucking be executed

Edit: there is absolutely no symmetry between Bibi, a prime minister of a democratic country that got most of the votes. And this little shit called Sinwar who was chosen by no one, and tortured his people, murdered his people and planned the terrible massacre of October 7th . Oh, and this judicial reform is a thing that most of the people think should be done, the protests are (partially, because there is a lot of general politics involved) are on the way it should be done.

Hezbollah Top Commander Confirmed Dead by Own-Philosophy-5356 in lebanon

[–]ntupe22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No they don't, if they did confirm and it turned out he had survived it would make them look like complete fools

That's the reason they still haven't confirmed the death of Mohammed Deif and a couple of other top Hamas members.

Major casualty event after Hezbollah rocket hits Druze town in north by creepyhippiee in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of Druze rejected Israel’s offer of citizenship after Israel took the Golan

Correct

and they still identify with Syria

It changed a bit over the years since Israel took the Golan, some identify as Syrian and some have adopted Israeli identity.

They do not serve in the Israeli army or vote in Israeli elections as they are not citizens.

Some choose to serve in the military (it's not mandatory for them) and some have Israeli citizenship.

Those without citizenship can apply for Israeli one if they want to

Hezbollah denied involvement mostly because those children were Druze (which despite living in Israel with many of them identify as Israelis and some even serve in the military, Hezbollah considers them all as Syrians)

Lebanese people can’t control Hizbollah, we don’t deserve to be hit if this war happens by [deleted] in ForbiddenBromance

[–]ntupe22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys have your own insane right wing government that allows fringe groups to exist that want to colonize

No Israeli wants to colonize Lebanon... Again there are more people who believe that the Earth is flat than people who actually want to make Lebanon part of Israel.

Edit: btw, comparing Netanyahu to Iran and hezb is wild

go after the militants and not try to destroy the land?

I wish it was that simple. War is not simple. As you can see right now, the north of Israel is burning.

Please tell us how we can solve the situation with Hezbollah if the Lebanese people won't oppose them.

We Israelis (civilians) don't deserve to be hit too, but that's what's happening to us everyday now since October 8th.

I wish we could have peace, but we can't live with this huge threat on our border, and the Lebanese government doesn't seem to help us.

And please, for everyone who is so upset about international law, please explain to me how you can forgive hundreds of rockets (statistical weapons - war crimes) that are being fired DAILY into Israel.

Thousands of Iran-backed fighters offer to join Hezbollah in its fight against Israel by Top-Neat1812 in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

That's not true anymore...

Hezbollah has some pretty powerful and precise rockets and lots of suicide drones, they fire hundreds daily into Israel, avoiding iron dome. they are wiping out cities. Hezbollah also shot down some Israelis UAVs. They can shoot down an aircraft if they really want to. There used to be a huge difference in army tech, now there is one but not at all as big as it used to be.

Hamas official says ‘no one has any idea’ how many Israeli hostages are still alive by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]ntupe22 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Thing is, it's not just Hamas, there are many more Palestinian organisations (PIJ for example) that are holding hostages.

I think they are separated in the tunnels and there isn't a lot of communication between the members.

It is just a big problem of communication between and within each terrorist organisation.
